    That does look lovely bexbex.

It seems like ages since I posted this wardrobe...

But I finally got around to painting it and distressing the edges.

More photos elsewhere ;) if anyone's interested. I'm just so gutted it won't fit up the stairs *sob*

Can't you actually take it to bits...this is something OH had to do with one we bought years ago a very large walnut one, but we dismantled and got it upstairs that way ...definitely worth a try if you love it so much :)

Thanks lajoni. We considered that initially (that's what we did with the last one I bought...you'd think I'd learn my lesson :o) but all the joints are glued and I didn't want to risk damaging it when we took it apart. Hopefully I'll get a few pennies for it to put towards something pretty but flat pack...or re-visit the idea I had to transform the one I've got.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Both look great Bibbitybob and Bexbex. I have a TV cabinet that I've had for a few weeks that I really need to get around to decorating but I'm mentally exhausted at the moment so it will have to wait a while.

Went to pick up my pine rocking chair yesterday which i won on ebay for £1.04.. What do you reckon? It is much taller than the pic makes it look.. the seat will need repairing but I would have anyway. I'm ove the moon with it. Gonna strip it back, then F&B diminity it and find some lovely fabric to criss cross the seat again... I'm gonna need a bigger house for all these things im buying!

I'd like to join in this thread if I may and say what lovely transformations on the last couple of pages. :)

I've been doing 'makeovers' on furniture for many years as I have always liked solidly made older stuff, but I've been much more a stripper than a painter - queen of nitromors, with the scars to prove it!

I have a few projects on the backburner, (came across these threads when I googled 'painted dresser') and you ladies are tempting me from the sewing I'm enjoying at the moment!

Ooh, what a treat to have all these photos today!

Bibbity the wardrobe looks great - shame you can't get it in your bedroom.

Em, what a bargain, can't wait to see it done up.

Lajoni, your rocker is lovely. Did you paint the flowers yourself or are they transfers?

Amymac, welcome, it'll be lovely to see your projects. If you're into sewing check out the Sewing room thread on the Special occasions and celebrations board.

Thanks Georgiabay - I've found the sewing thread!

I'm pretty new to posting on forums so I'm just finding my way around at the moment - lots of inspiration in here. Hope I can make a contribution once I feel a bit more confident about posting without thinking I am going to break something! :)
  • We'll need plenty of photos from you but I don't think you can put any on straight away. I think it's to do with how many posts you've made, so you better get posting! Don't worry you won't break anything :D
