This is a pine coffee table that I have recently 'shabbied'. Top was hand sanded and waxed with Annie Sloan's clear wax. Bottom part was painted in Annie Sloan's Wild Ochre. There's an odd shadow appeared on photos that isn't there in real life. dunno why. lol.

I've got an Ikea book case with white doors in, like this one, but my doors are on the bottom rows.

All the doors look alike and all have child locks so it's a bit of a bother when I want to find something. What I thought I'd do is to make a stencil in a shape like a sticky label (round cornered rectangle) and paint blackboard paint in a label shape onto the door, then use a blackboard pen (like pubs have for the specials board) to write what's in them.

I've made stencils for walls before and used a cereal box for the card and sponged the paint on. For this though I think I need something more like thin plastic than cereal box card because I need a really sharp edge to the shape. With that in mind how should I apply the paint? Mini roller?

How am I going to do this ladies and gents? I can't afford to mess it up, you would not believe what those doors cost each!

(Sorry it's not strictly SC, but I thought you'd be the people to ask).

I managed to get some gorgeous old wooden boxes to fill with flowers in the garden in the summer :D. I have decided this is the year that I will properly take a shabby chic approach to the garden. The shed is going to be painted in a gorgeous shade and I am going to have lots of lovely girly things in the garden too :)

Yes you need a small foam roller with not very much paint on it. Ideally you'd use spray adhesive to stick the plastic stencil onto the door whilst rollering.

Just wondered if anyone had successfully taken a shabby chic approach to their garden?
