I'm feeling a bit inspired by hmo's fabulous wreath and started thinking about Christmas, I'd really love shabby chic decorations this year instead of the bog standard tinsel draped everywhere. Has anyone got any tutorials or websites where I can get some ideas?

oh, great i inspired someone:) i made some bunting the other day just a shortish length in red and white felt, heart shped and did a very small amount of hand stitching and used buttons i havent taken a photo yet so will do when i get time.

i made it to hang on my mirror in my kitchen at christmas but it could be hung anywhere maybe across a fireplace or even on the tree.

Are you looking to find a use for the structures as is, or break them down to make something?
You could use the wood to make some nice planters for the garden or window boxes.
I'm sure the wood would come in handy. Have you thought about selling on ebay? They seem to hold their value quite well.

Apologies for the late reply. I would like to find a use for the structures but open to suggestions.

    Many thanks!

I'm painting a biscuit tin - anyone seen any posts on here about tins?
So far have put difficult surfaces primer on it, it'll take 4 hours to dry so am now looking to see if anything I have will do as paint without going shopping. It's for the xmas mince pies.
    thanks

I think emulsion will be fine but you'll need to varnish or wax it afterwards to make it durable. I assume it is only the outside so it won't come into contact with food,
