I have only just discovered this...I love all things shabby so this thread is a little treasure chest of inspiration!
I could use some help though, I was given a Lloyd Loom ottoman on Freegle and it's in good condition but could do with some sprucing up and new fabric on the top...where can I source some nice shabby fabric at a reasonable price (I only need a meter squared)?
Going to sit back with a cuppa now and read this thread from the start!0 -
always worth looking in charity shops at their curtains etc. I wish I could sew as I see lots of material with potential.0

Has anyone seen any Cath Kidston-style bedside lamps recently? My SIL loves the style, and needs some lamps so I'd love to get her a pair for Christmas. CK doesn't seem to do them, and I don't have the time to make the shades with fabric. I've seen some handmade ones on eBay but a) most of these are for the shade only and b) I'd rather get from a shop so if they're not right they could be exchanged. I was sure places would sell them but I can't find any online. Help!
Thanks(ps sorry if I've been sacrilegious by not wanting to make my own!!)

BHS are usually worth a look for lighting and I did see some pink 'dotty' lamps in Poundstretcher a while ago. HTHNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0 -
I'm not sure if this fits in here but I just HAVE to make one of these for my stepfathers granddaughter (my DD already has a wooden JL one)
An old bedside table, a lick of paint and a round hole with a metal bowl glued in...
Much nicer than the plasticy ones and if you're careful, maybe even cheaper.0 -
Brilliant MandM90, absolutely brilliant!Normal people worry me.0

I've just come home with this:
http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/welsh-dresser/94599106
Managed to get it for £40 as the guy just wanted rid of it. Fantastic condition and its going to be shabbied. So excited.
The drawers are lined with green felt, what could I change this too?
