yes I've done that but it does take a long time so I wondered if blogs were 'grouped' say all crochet linked together, all home design together etc, as I just seem to stumble upon them by happy accident.

Have you heard of Pinterest? Its my latest obsession!! http://pinterest.com/

Basically you create 'pinboards' of things you like - home decor inspiration, recipies, art. Anything really as long as it's decent. :rotfl:You can browse friend's boards and the boards of others. I've got completely lost in it today as you can hop from one thing to another. Find someone whose style you like and then check out their friends boards etc. A lot of the things pinned are from blogs, and because the boards are themed (mine are "Living Room Ideas", "DD's Room Ideas" etc.) you will find blogs of the same category all on one board.

It's not exactly what you were after, but maybe it helps? :)

Evening all, i too have been lurking on this thread for a while, your transformations - before and after are amazing!!!

I picked up today an old edwardian dresser that was about to go into a skip - the mirror on it is fabulous and also has little drawers on the top which the mirror sits in between/upon if you understand what i mean and two drawers either side underneath. I would take a picture and show you but at the moment it is still sat in my car as im unable to get it out on my own, the thing is it has inlay work on the top which is missing in some places and also lifting in others, i wanted to know what is the best way to deal with this, i was going to rub it down anyway and give it some sort of paint job so would it be possible to rub down the veneers or would i be better off trying to remove the veneer top completely and starting to rub down and prepare from scratch? i hope i have explained myself properly any ideas would be very welcome.

    TIA xxx

If you're going to paint it anyway (and it sounds like the best thing for it if the woods now in good nick), stick down the loose bits of veneer with a contact adhesive. You can then build up to the same level as the veneer with a filler. This will probably take a little while to build up as you want it quite smooth. It's well worth doing properly though. It's going to look great when it's done :)

If you can visit a Laura Ashley shop they often have the odd roll of toile in their bargain wallpaper bucket.

maman, that's exactly the suggestion I was going to make! I've picked up so many rolls of paper for £1.50 from our local LA store. I did the chimney breast at my old flat in one and it looked lovely. We were lucky enough to get two with the same batch number for the spare room, I'm dying to get it up but there's so much more important things to do first!

I love the idea of white walls (and I'd keep the wardrobes white too, personally) with a huge mirror propped against the wall. I do think that a really strong, big pattern can look great in a small room as long as it's on a single wall - we've got a fabulous black damask design with a pearly cream background for our box room feature wall and I'm planning white french style furniture with it.

I picked up this little cabinet for £1.50 from the boot sale this morning! I've already given it one coat of paint and it's going to go in my bathroom. I'm torn between using it for display or getting some mirror glass put in and using it above the sink.
