I've just seen these on the Lakeland site. Pretty but expensive. Can't you just picture yourself sipping tea at the table with these!!

I was going to use some kath kidson design ribbon on my wicker baskets but found some gorgeous heart hangers instead so used these to glam up my baskets by hanging thewm inbetween the weave - So pleased

They look lovely HMO, I would like to make some of those hearts to hang off my kitchen window handle.

I popped into my local tesco last night and
founds some lovely tea, coffee & sugar pots
    in a modern country design @ £4 each = £12 the set.
They are £15 for the set on the tesco website
    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-8141.aspx

They also had matching chopping boards and bits,
but I dont like everything matching in my kitchen.
    Kindness costs nothing :)

    hi all

how would you suggest i shabby up my 14 yr old sons room it needs a complete overhall, he is pretty good at shabbying it up himself but not in the way i mean!!!

he has a pine wardrobe badly painted white by my daughter and a computer unit and set of draws i sort of want it workman style IYSWIM rather than pretty obviously but still feel it can come under the heading

there is no colour scheme or anything at the moment its literally just a room rather than a bedroom and it needs decorating the whole lot but on nil pennies if possible!

any ideas even for small things rather than the room as a whole will be greatly received

    thanks all in advance

Hope about some metal lockers instead of the tatty wardrobe? They could be spray painted relatively cheaply and would be inkeeping with the workman theme.

For storage you could use the large plastick/rubbery/buckety things they sell in DIY stores for rubble, etc.

If you have room then you could shuffle around the furniture and sand and re-paint it in situ. If you can get hold of a mouse (hand held) sander for around £10 then you could remove/even up any drippy/uneven paint on the wardrobe and rough up the surfaces on the computer unit and drawers and repaint them all in the same or complementary colours. I wouldn't use spray paint if you are working on large pieces, especially indoors as you would need a lot of cans and the smell would be horrendous. Places like Poundland or similar discount shops often have nice bright paints in red or blues which can look nice in teenage boys rooms.
