I made simple roller blinds , I already had some old ones up in the window, so just peeled off the old material and used that as a template to cutting my new material out ,
I sewed a 1" hem either side of the new material and
turned up the bottom and slipped a pole into it (to weigh it down).
Then to attatch back onto the roller, I used double sided sticky tape. If only I could work out how to post a photo ?Kindness costs nothing0 -
hmo, your table is lovely , I really like it . Where is the blog ?Kindness costs nothing0

I have a new sofa which I love! I may need cushions on it buit that's ok because I have saved all of my newly replaced pillows. I've got some pashminas in chocolate brown and cream so I was hoping to make these into cushion covers. Now I need to get out my sewing machine and figure it out! I'll get rid of the boxes first a bit later on this evening and try to create enough space to have a bash at cushion covers.
I've also bookmarked loads of the spare covers on thebay so that I can pick one up from there. I've had a falling out with Ikea due to their pricing naughtiness so would rather buy one from someone who is trying to get rid of oneDebt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

well my handles arrived for the desk i have been painting to turn into a dressing table for my dd.
they dont fit!
i double checked the sellers info and measurements but they just wont fit where the old handles used to be.
they are about 5mm out on each one anyone got any suggestions.
i have sprayed the old handles tonight as we had some silver paint left over from doing the tops of our new gates last week, but i didnt really want to put the old handles back on also i dont know how the spray paint will hold up.
if i drill new holes you will partially see the old ones which i suppose i could try and fill but its all painted now.
wondered if there is anything i can use to hide the holes?
has this happened to anyone else or is it just me0 -
Aw hmo that sounds really annoying. I am changing some bedside cabinets from two holes to one and have filled the holes and am going to paint over. It'll be fine, just fill, lightly sand and give another go over with paint.0

Can I ask how you made the blinds? I want to make some for my kitchen windows, I've got the material (it's actually a king size quilt cover reduced to £3.50 in Wilkinsons) but I'm looking for a really simple way to make the blinds, maybe something like roll-up blinds?
Here is a link for different tutorial for window blinds or dressing
