Monday Morning. Dreaded cold still in effect
The highlight of this week coming will be babysitting my friend's 20 month old son on Wednesday. I have serious mummy envy. It is one of my only regrets in life. Very excited to do some babysitting!
After lots of pondering and thinking over the weekend, it has become clear to me that I need to take the iniative of sorting myself and the finances much more seriously.
Have been yo-yo ing and complaining about my weight for the last 4 years, I get about halfway to goal, and then I just slack off. The weight hurts me physically and emotionally and it is something I can have a direct effect on starting right this minute. My goal for this week is to be mindful of what I am eating, and to make sure I am hungry before I eat it.
All the credit cards need going over again. The main one is on 0%.
Our smallest card has £2700 on it. I need to dump some stock my company gave me which is worth very little and pay that off and cancel it. Having one of the cards put to bed will be motivational. I can then also use the payment I would have spent there on another card to clear it faster.
Onwards and Downwards (to the smaller end of the scale and less debt!)
It's a good thing to take a regular audit of how you're doing, it will keep you on track. It's all too easy to drift away from paying off the debts and sliding back to minimum payments. Happy Now does a very regular update, quarterly, I think. If it works for you, borrow the idea! Certainly, clearing down a card will boost your motivation a lot, but don't forget, you might be struggling with motivation because you're under the weather.
Look after yourself NL!

this cold sure has tenacity. I might have to take a sick day tomorrow
Did you take a sick day? Sometimes you just need to give up and let it run its course without trying to 'soldier on'.
Lots of fluids. Hot water, fresh lemon, fresh ginger, honey is my go-to drink when I feel like that. Paracetamol will help with the runny nose symptoms and dry up your head a wee bit. It will also help keep your temp down if it's high.
Be well soon. xx0 -
thanks for the well wishes.
I have been to the doctor today and yup, it's a cold. I also had my follow up gastroenterology appointment and I have a hernia which needs general surgery to repair.

Oh that's nasty, bit dramatic to get out of going to the gym, don't you think?
When will they do the surgery? Hopefully, it is something that you recover quickly from.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Yikes! No heavy lifting Madam!
That takes care of laundry, vaccuuming (moving furniture), ummmm... I'm sure I'll think of other things :rotfl:
Lucky you've only got little dogs or you'd be in big trouble!
Hope it gets sorted soon. Take it easy in the meantime and try not to break yourself any more!

Hello Friends,
Hot and sunny down here. Did wsahing before work and hung it up.
I have lots of herbs growing in the garden so will try to dry some of them (like oregano is easy) but I don't think drying mint will work out very well.
The salvia is out s lots of big furry bumblebees which I love to see.
Will try to dodge Piq's lbs she dropped and try to drop some of my own!Mortgage: £280,752/ £262,515.84
