Day 2 of the cold. Have managed a shower, clean clothes etc.
Sadly have to drag myself to Tesco. On the plus side, I have made a list and a budget. Will go do that and then come home and collapse.
Have worked out that there are only 142 days until Christmas! I can't belive it. This year I will be sticking to a BUDGET.
Won an award at work Thursday night. Recognition is good, but ££ are better. This one was only a pat on the headThe main point is that they know I am working hard when there all all these redundancies taking place.

Ok Managed T*sco's and stayed within budget. Going there reminded me why I usually shop online. Heaving with people, lots of pushing and shoving. Perhaps working from home is making me an agorophobe.
Entered 15 competitions and counted up £20 in 50p's so will deposit that on Monday.

Monday Morning. Dreaded cold still in effect
The highlight of this week coming will be babysitting my friend's 20 month old son on Wednesday. I have serious mummy envy. It is one of my only regrets in life. Very excited to do some babysitting!
After lots of pondering and thinking over the weekend, it has become clear to me that I need to take the iniative of sorting myself and the finances much more seriously.
Have been yo-yo ing and complaining about my weight for the last 4 years, I get about halfway to goal, and then I just slack off. The weight hurts me physically and emotionally and it is something I can have a direct effect on starting right this minute. My goal for this week is to be mindful of what I am eating, and to make sure I am hungry before I eat it.
All the credit cards need going over again. The main one is on 0%.
Our smallest card has £2700 on it. I need to dump some stock my company gave me which is worth very little and pay that off and cancel it. Having one of the cards put to bed will be motivational. I can then also use the payment I would have spent there on another card to clear it faster.

Hey NewLeaf,
You sound very re-energised and motivated. I like your plan; it will be a boost to pay off one balance.
40 is not too old for kids. My Dad was 40 when they had me (and look how I turned out :rotfl:)
Seriously though, there's loads of kids who need homes and stable environments. You could try fostering and there's great money in it too- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Monday Morning. Dreaded cold still in effect
Awww... sorry you've been ill all weekend. I haven't been on any threads other than still reading 'Mike's Mob' (finished last night finally) and mostly been watching the Olympics. Feel better soon.

I love other people's babies for a short time, but am very much relieved to hand them back at the first sign anything other than happy gurgling or sleeping. :rotfl:

I think sometimes its easy to lose your way, even after a LBM. I'm hoping I can keep up the momentum on our cost cutting, and trying to be vigilant for the first signs of slipping.
I don't have any sage advice for you, other than maybe doing your SOA again to take stock of where you are and get some input on here. I'm too early on in my own process to be helpful I think.
Hope your cold clears soon. It's horrible and affects everything you try to do. Lots of fluids and maybe some time snuggled on the couch watching the olympics.0 -

When I was born my mom was 30 and my Dad was 60!
I cant have any of my own kids as I have had chemo twice. We applied to the council we live in to adopt a few years ago and after a long consultation, home visit, etc etc etc, it didn't work out because we wanted a child under 10. Fostering isn't for me as I would not be able to cope with kids coming in and out.Mortgage: £280,752/ £262,515.84
