oh dear Monday again! How angry will the cashiers a B*lay@s get if i wander over there every morning to put a fiver a day extra on our 2 cards? I could do this by computer however i need the exercise. I have to lose a stone in the next 41 days before our only holiday this year.

    xx

    Oh yes it's Monday....

Unfortunately, for the cashiers, they're not allowed to get annoyed with you. It's it bank, it's there to take money!

The weather's lovely so enjoy the exercise with a clear conscience!

I wish I was out on a hack with you and Captain. When I was in America I had horses all my life. My last horse was a gorgeous chestnut tbred gelding with 4 white socks. His name was Fritz and at 16 hands tall he was the spookiest horse I ever had, but what a forward mover and graceful jumper he was. water jumps were a deffo NO! Spooked him out of his mind. Cant wait for the next Captain story xx

Horses get into your blood and never leave, I'm afraid. I'll be out on him later, I'll pause at the top of the hill, without napping, and think of you.

Fritz sounds amazing, I love chestnuts. Had he ever hacked with the Captain, he would have got a stunned look from a know-it-all piebald as if to say 'what on earth are you doing, it's a bag/balloon/blade of grass'. Having said that, he came to a complete standstill yesterday because a sheep baa-ed at him!

I'm still ploughing through the job boards, not fun! I have registered on the site you recommended, they have so many of my details they could probably marry me....

Must get back to it. Walk your five pounds into the bank with pride...

    Hi NewLeaf,

I've just stumbled across your diary. Ignore the naysayers who argue you shouldn't be on the DFW board due to income levels. If you've got debt to shift, this is the place to be.

I have found that there's a mentality that goes along with being in debt, which changes as you start to pay it off and eventually become debt free. To me that is the actual crux of the issue. Not the £ or $ sign themselves.

Keep up the good work and don't feel you have to justify yourself to others.

thanks for the warm welcome. You make such a good point about the shift in mentality from spender to saver :)

    Hey NL I found you!!

Have read the diary..sorry some seemed lukewarm earlier..but as a piggyback says its about the shift from spender to saver and lord knows I can sympathise with that and I for one still need some nudging in that direction. I was also very loath to list my SOA..embarrassed really that I could be in charge of deals worth seven or more figures but be unable to run my own small business ( ie theBrizzle household!!) ..but of course there is mental baggage, needs, wants, OHs...a consumer based society..'because we're worth it' mentality etc etc. I know how hard it is to avoid duty free.in my last job I flew most weeks and it was all too easy to stock up on the Ch@nel and my all time fave..@larins..:o

Anyway we are here to support. I am adjusting in a manner of speaking to having less money but more time. 2 days a week when I am formally not working. A better work life balance is not to be sniffed at and I think I am happier and healthier for it.

Have subscribed and like Piq..have parked my towel on the sun lounger...we are guests you will never get rid of :rotfl:

PS I love PADIng...yes every day is the way to go!!

And so's a spend dairy. Track everything. Treat yourself like a business. Become your own FD. I found that even when I was earning much more than I do now it was only when i tracked it that Ifelt in control. I have to control my accounts..they can't control me!

PPS what happened to the mortgage!! That's a drop in a monthly payment if ever I saw one.. What's the secret?!

Why hello there NL, I'm really glad you decided to restart your diary ! I have read a few of your posts over on Happy Nows diary. Dont feel you have to justify yourself to others or your situation although its something many of us are familiar with. We are a lovely bunch, honest and I would love to join you on your journey if I may please :D

If you dont mind I will also subscribe, but unlike the lovely Mrs B and Piquant, I am not in need of a sunbed, I will happily squish in between on a blow up lilo with a chilled bottle of 3 for £10 from A3da , rather than the fancy cocktails they are all after !!!:rotfl:
