Welcome back. Sorry to hear OH been made redundant - at least he's managed to get another job - albeit with a smaller salary.
Well done on what you've managed to pay off so far. Hopefully, using your diary, you'll be able to keep the momentum going and get rid of some more.
I'm normally a only a lurker/subscriber on these boards but always read with interest (picking up lots of useful tips along the way!)
I'm having a day much the same as yourself - washing hung out, baked a cake and made a huge pot of soup and the sun is shining here too so OH is out doing a bit of DIY in the garden.
Have a good sunday - looking forward to hitching a ride on your debt free journey

Hi NL, just having a cruise round the boards and recognised your name. Hope you manage to keep going and I'll pull up a comfy chair and poke my nose in now and then if that's ok?

What a lovely afternoon it's been. I should have had washing out in the garden but the washing line has fallen over, complete with the block of concrete it was set into! The ground must have shrunk!
Good luck with the diary.

Well rats! Did you have to re-launder everything? What a waste!
Tomorrow is supposed to be nice as well so maybe we will get another chance.
Have had a run at ebay and posted some clothes. I have some watchers already so very excited about that.
Living out in what we Americans call a western "suburb" of London, we are lucky enough to have a house with a 70ft long garden. It's about 32ft wide so a landing strip really, but never the less put in an apple and pear tree and grape vines when we moved in 6 years ago and they have buds, as do the raspberry, blackberry and gooseberry canes/bushes. All very exciting. The three dogs have had a long afternoon laying in the sun, and then when they get too hot and cant stand it a moment longer they come in to lie on the cool limestone floor in the kitchen.
This evening is going to consist of some vanity! I used to get mani and pedi etc, but don't spend the £ anymore and do it myself. So a long soak in the bath and then the varnish will come out with a bit of Antiques Roadshow. I paint my nails at least twice a week but I have 2 sneaky reasons: 1. because I travel so much I have been tempted by duty free so many times I have a dresser overflowing with "designer" make ups, skin lotions, perfumes etc most unopened, and about 30 OPI nail varnishes. I am on an abstinence plan to use up all I have before I buy anything else new. 2. I am trying to lose weight and I usually nibble at night. If my nails are wet I cant pick up anything to eat! Result! The whole thing is comical if you consider I rarely go into the office, maybe 1x per month and no one sees my efforts at all!

Yes, quite a lot of the washing had to be redone, just one of those things!
Sounds like the dogs have had a good afternoon in the sun. And your garden sounds lovely.
I used to have manicures and pedicures, I just keep my fingernails short with a clear varnish these days.
I blag trial size skin care every time I go into town. I have a cupboard full of samples. Yesterday I picked up samples from Dior and Lancome, all for nothing!

Hello NewLeaf, good to see that you've revived your diary
. Of all the MSE changes I've made over the last few months, my diary is the thing that really keeps me focussed and positive. I wish I'd done it years ago - I probably wouldn't be in this financial mess if I had.
I have subscribed to your diary and tomorrow I will read it from start to finish. I would normally read it now, but the clocks changed last night and I'm all jet-lagged. This happens to me twice every year, I wish they'd stop it. I'm going to have an early night (or is it late?!) and hopefully I'll have acclimatised by morning! xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

I could do this by computer however i need the exercise. I have to lose a stone in the next 41 days before our only holiday this year.
