  • Stay calm NewLeaf. We have problems with Mr F's tax every year. They have under-charged us, over-charged us, double-charged us for company cars, invented company cars for us,... We've become very vigilant and much more tax aware as a result but it's still a pain in the proverbial every year.

Your accountant should be able to sort things out for you and it might be that the bill will come down. But, if not you just need a plan.

"When sorrows come, they come not as single spies but in battalions". You've got a lot to deal with at the moment so don't be too hard on yourself. January is such a low month but Spring will come just as things will work themselves out in the end.

    Take care of yourself

Thanks for the great words and thoughts everyone. January is a low month that is for sure.

Best to focus on what I "can" do and not what I can't.

There is a lot of good that has happened too. We aren't charging on our cards, we are at 0%. I got an outstanding job review this year and a (small) payrise. OH still has a job. My health is getting better and I get a lot of joy from the dogs.
Have set out to do my charity event with OH and plan to do a little bit every week.
I won some neat prizes this year which were used as gifts or given to charity with the exception of 1 set of movie tickets we used.

Have to just try to lose some of the fear xx

This the spirit. You will not only survive but thrive!

Make sure your accountant looks over the years you are currently paying back to make sure that figure is correct.

You're welcome , might as well get them to make sure all previous years are ok. Don't forget you can claim part of heating lighting and so on. You work from home right?

Need to catch up day 6 no broadband so only able to use phone and blinking hard work!
