'Morning NewLeaf, :santa2:
Just catching up and seen your news re. Mum. Don't blame her - you must admit the hospital thing hasn't gone quite as smoothly as might have been hoped - so she's worried about you as is very natural and normal.
In a similar situation I'd do the same - jump on a 'plane and see for myself what muck-ups need un-mucking by Mum..
ps. I'd be furious if my offspring/patient spent the days before my arrival polishing their home in order to create a good impression on me - though I'd approve if OH had done the cleaning.
Therefore - please just relax, NewLeaf!0 -
^^ I couldn't say it better myself my dear, so please take Robin's advice my lovely Newleaf. Remember your DM is coming to see you not your clean house.

So has she arrived? Hope all is going well in the Newleaf house and you get to spend some quality time with DM even if she does drive you mad at times, (I'm of course speaking from experience here)

Oh no!..That's you and 999,999 others in the UK!
A bit worrying in your case because of your recent op - the quickest way to get rid of it is forget food for now; take tiny sips of water with a lemon squeezed into it, and smaller teaspoons of honey [Manuka if OH can get hold of some, failing that one of the 'antiseptic' types, eg. eucalyptus].
Check for dehydration by pinching the skin on the back of your hand - if it doesn't spring straight back into place [ie. you can still see a 'peak' where you pinched] - get medical help.
When symptoms subside try a little pro-biotic yoghurt before anything solid.
(In years gone by my most useful reference book was "When there is no Doctor" - can you tell? Lol). Have hesitated before posting - but really this is common sense rather than medical advice. This bug has such a short incubation period that it's being spread by people who are infected but don't yet have symptoms. Not all adults who contract it will need medical help as it usually passes quite quickly, but if there is a suspicion that the patient is becoming dehydrated - please call the doctor!
..I do hope OH is not also afflicted, so can help you - you'll probably have to return the favour later.
Presumably you've stopped cleaning now? I really hope you're having a quiet day before Mum [or should she be Mom?] arrives.
