In effect, any shopper that does not challenge R&R is more welcome than a shopper that does challenge R&R.A challenger could be barred? It appears an issue arises that would surely breach equal rights or discriminatory statutes. There surely has to be some reasonable right to shop.

I also think that never repairing your in-store scanners (or maybe actually disabling them purposely) because you are frightened of just how many of your prices are incorrect is also pretty weak. (not having a go at you personally or your store, but Tesco as a whole, btw). 'Confident in the prices we charge?' I think not.

Actually i think it is more of a cost issue, the old system was put in using an old cabling system and not the RJ45 that is now commonplace.

To replace the whole system when it breaks involves relaying cables around the whole store to the central price point, a rather costly exercise.

Are teso the only people to do R&R? if none of the others do it why don't they get in trouble? I am forever finding mistakes at Morrisons who only very grumpily give you back the difference - I often have to hang about waiting while they form a little discussion group.

I'm trying to only go to tesco now because at least if they make a mistake I get free grub.

Yes tesco are the only supermarket to offer R&R.

Others do not get in to "trouble" as it has to be proved that consitant and habitual overcharging is happening. If people dont report to trading standards then the above cannot be proved.

If you get banned from a particular store, best thing to do is draw up some A5 leaflets explaining how to R&R at Tesco and what to look for, then hand them out to shoppers on their way in (be careful not to stand on Tesco land, of course). I think your ban would be lifted fairly promptly. lol.
Anyone want to guess at how long it would be before the police arrived to arrest you for breach of the peace??

For breach of the peace to happen there must be violence or the risk of incitement to violence:
For conduct to constitute a breach of the peace, the conduct must involve violence or the threat of violence. The violence need not be perpetrated by the defendant, provided that the natural consequence of his conduct, was that others would be provoked to violence (Percy v DPP [1995] Crim LR 714). However lawful behaviour even if provocative may not be sufficient to constitute a breach of the peace (Redmond-Bate v DPP (1999) 163 JP 789).

Interestingly (or not depending on how your free Organic Sunday Lunch is going down ;) ) Liberty seems to think there is no offence of Breach of the Peace.
    I wonder.
Assuming you're not threatening Tesco, nor standing on their land, then the Police can't take you in for it. Probably use something else though.
