I bought this, and am happy to recommend it.

    Samsung Electronics
    Samsung R580 Laptop

    Intel Core i3-350M 2.26GHz
    3GB RAM
    320GB HDD
    15.6" Gloss SuperBright
    NVIDIA GeForce 310M
    Bluetooth + Webcam
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

I've seen some anti- ebuyer threads here on MSE but the transaction for me was simple and straightforward - paid my money and received the goods, not much more you can ask for! I'd certainly buy from them again.

Obviously drunk from your new purchase, but some of us like aftersales service too.

Not that I'm knocking ebuyer, as I haven't had any problems in using them. But to suggest that all someone expects is just to pay the money and receive the goods is naive.

Not even a price on your post.
  • Are there any not so well known places that you know of Donnie where I might find a bargain? I know about ebuyer, laksys, scan and dabs. And now I know about argos outlet and ebay outlets and ofcourse sonystyle lol. Got anymore gems up your sleeve bud?

Nice spec currently listed on the Ebuyer site at £605 but with a little bit of shopping around you could have got the same laptop here for £100 less BUT it is a Customer Return and the warranty still applies.

I would personally recommend Fujitsu Siemens.

I'm using the Amilo LI 2727 model, came with Vista Home Premium, which is absolute ball socks, but upgraded it with a student offer to Windows 7 Home Premium, works fantastic. Had it for 2 years, never looked back. It's not a pretty looking machine, and i'm not the most careful person with it (keep nearly dropping it and the lid is scratched to !!!!!!y) but I love it :D

They don't make my model any more, but Fujitsu Siemens is a winner in my book.

AVOID BUYING MSI NETBOOKS AT ALL COST!!

Don't go to Dell. They look very nice and can be quite functional, but at the first sign of trouble they do not want to know all contact numbers seemed to link to the far east!

I've also had Acer in the past, it's 50/50...

Hmmm....one Fujitsu Siemens laptop and they are the best??

Strange comment about MSI netbooks, since they were the manufacturer behind most of the Netbooks we would see on our shelves. A quick search on MSI Wind will confirm this. Wiki

I have to say, I've never heard anything but negativity towards Fujitsu laptops.

Jim, i know it's not an i3 but it looks to have most other things that you want:

    http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/ASUS_K70IO-TY014V_700521.html

That processor actually scores higher in Donnie's link than the i3 330 (if i've interpreted that website properly)

Sorry if you've already considered that one, it is late so forgive me :A
