What am I doing up at this time you may ask? Well I have come to the conclusion that OH and I really need a king sized bed. He just takes up so much room in the double and I literally end up with a fraction more than my body width (and my body width is very small). The problem is that I am a fidgeter - I always have been and I therefore need room to move around during the night. When I don't get it I wake up at stupid o'clock and can't get back to sleep (like now) and I end up getting frustrated and decide to get up early.

I was fine last week when he was at his parents. I was sleeping in until 9.30am most days (probably catching up on all the lost sleep!!). So a king sized bed is a must if he is going to continue living here. The good news is that we already have a king sized mattress as OH's parents changed theirs and their old one was literally only a few months old so we nabbed it.

We want one of those ottoman beds that lifts up and you can store stuff underneath as we really need the storage. Problem is that I certainly can't afford my half until at least February so until then I am stuck with restless nights. I might put the other mattress in the living room and sleep on there or get the air bed back out. Anything for a decent night's sleep :(.

Might OH's rents buy you a base as a pressie?

  • Ohh Emily I feel for you, no one should go without sleep. Is there anyway you can try and afford it sooner than later? Sleeping on the sofa/put you up isn't good :(

I don't think they would as OH has sponged off them enough in the past few years. Might drop some hints though and see if they offer ;).

    Thanks Pap.

I seem to be able to get 4-5 hours before waking up and not being able to sleep again. I sometimes manage to sleep all night too. OH did say this morning that he would sleep on the air bed tonight.

Not sure about OH but I definitely can't afford another bed just yet. I can handle sleeping on an air bed for a couple of weeks and he can do a couple of weeks too.

Have done all of my questions again today - another 100. I am still working on it at the moment though as my percentages are too high so want to get them down before tomorrow.

It's a good job I don't have any money at the moment as I am really craving a chicken curry. I have a pizza in the freezer that I can cook later on.

Another NSD for me today and I found 80p in my coat pocket :D. Got the opticians tomorrow for another check up (because of the new lenses) but that is free and I will make sure I park with my disabled badge for nothing.

Not sure where OH is. I have been at my mum's most of the day and he wasn't here when I got back. I'm hoping he might come home with some food :D.

Good day today. Got another 100 questions done so up to £90 for the month already.

Managed to park for free when I went to the opticians. Have to go back on the 20th January. It's a good job all these appointments are free!!

Quickly scooted past the shops on the way back to the car (not that I have any money) and OH treated me to a TGIs. He also got me a Chinese tonight. What a piggy I am :D.

Going to the library tomorrow to pick up a book I reserved (Vampire Diaries). Didn't know you had to pay 50p to reserve books or I wouldn't have done it. Will know better next time.

In the evening we are seeing a freebie film (the new one starring Russell Crowe). Will make sure that we park for free and am taking some munchies that we already have so that I'm not tempted to buy anything there.

Slept a bit better last night although I still kept waking up. Got to drop OH off at the train station early tomorrow so will get to bed in a bit. He picks up his car tomorrow (been off the road for ages) so hopefully he can start driving himself around :D.

Eek, bit behind with the questions after yesterday. Need to do 150 today. I will make sure I get it done.

Was just settling down to do some and then remembered that the landlady was coming round to do a gas safety check. So I had to scoot around with the hoover and make sure the place was semi tidy. The gas man has just turned up but no sign of landlady. Good job I was here.

I only spent my 50p yesterday on picking up my library book. Got another one too so that I don't have to go back for a little while. Saw The Next Three Days. It was really good, not what I expected at all. Don't usually like Russell Crowe films.

We got to the cinema a bit early so OH put £2 in the Deal or no Deal machine. Thanks to my trivial brain, he won £7. I told him to keep the money but he ended up buying me some 7up, a frozen pizza for dinner last night and some milk. So got some free shopping. My mum also got me a couple of packs of biscuits :D

I was going to get some shopping today but don't need to now. I think I will get some on Thursday instead. Need to have a good think about what to buy though. I only want to spend about £15. Looks like an unplanned NSD for me today.

Anyway, off to see what the gas man is up to. I can hear some banging!!
