Hi
This is the first time that i have posted on here, so be gentle with me!!
I have recently purchased a landrover freelander from a garage which is about 40miles from myself, and it does come with 3 months warrenty, but that is not the issue.
I noticed that the brakes on it were, well i had to put my foot down quite some way (might just be me, cause its a different car)
So i thought i would take it to kwik fit to have a free brake test, booked it for 12:00pm 17/09/2011, got there about 11:55am, was told that it was going to be a couple of hours as they were busy conning other people first :rotfl:
So left the car there, waited 2 hours, went to collect it and they told me that the brake calipers were leaking at the back (surely i might notice if something is leaking) needed new brake pads, the calipers were stuck together (i'm no mechanic, but surely the brakes would not work at all if this were the case). They quoted me nearly £350 do all this 'work' that needs doing. I said 'OK' i'll bring it back in next week, to which i am not of course.
So i rang the garage where i got it from and they have told me to bring it in and they will look at it. They also told me what kwik fit are like, that is why i came on here after looking on the web at other stories about them.
I am also going to take it a trusted mechanic to have his opinion before i take it to where i got it from.
Will be interesting to see if the 'work' that kwik fit have quoted is true or not and if it is true, what the difference in price is.
I will update after this weekend.0 -
