don't worry too much about these letters guys, under the 8 weeks complaints procedure they are obliged to acknowledge your letter, give an update at the four week point and a final response by 8 weeks. Once the 8 weeks is up then start to chase, but they have to give you something at the 4 week point !

Coming up on 5 weeks now and not a peep nor acknowledgement
    from Nationwide.
  • Never did get a response to the questionnaire i sent so i rang them about 3 weeks ago and got talking to someone at member services in northampton. They asked me to send it again which i did, only this time by Special Delivery, and i could then see the received it the next day. One week later i got the standard letter about them having 8 weeks to respond. And this morning i got an apology and an offer of a refund of my PPI :j
They have offered me £1450 and if i accept they will add Interest of 8% per year!!
To say i'm delighted is an understatement. thanks to everyone for the advice and good wishes.
I have one further question if anyone can help, is this 8% per year 8% of the £1450 per year or 8% of the PPI per year which worked out about £300 per year?
    Thanks again to everyone!!

    Hi folks,

I've been paying £14 a month PPI on my Nationwide mortgage for the past four and a half years and am going to try and claim it back.

I notice that a number of you have been successful with your claims - can I ask what you wrote in your original letter? I called Nationwide and they told me I need to put in writing why I believe I was mis-sold the PPI, I'd appreciate any advice from others as to what they gave as their "reasons".

    Thanks in advance.

    Adam.
  • Can anyone give me some extra advice please...I had a loan with Nationwide from 2002-2005. I have telephoned them and received a questionnaire to complete. I do have the reference number but cant remember how much it was for. Will I need all this information, they (NW) are advising I can write on the questionnaire they sent to me that I dont know, but I do not want to jeopardise the claim. Any offer of advice welcome, Thank you

Hi I'm going after Nationwide for ppi on 3 loans dating back to 2000 ... I have had success with other loans with other creditors so more than happy to help you.
