  • 1, in tesco's own words, we apologise for your false detention. as i initally refused and asked why and i was told i NEEDED to in a very threatening demeanor/
2, exactly my point! i picked a few items up put them in my small trolley and then paid for them.

3, i said thank you to those who gave proper answers, but answers like "To be honest OP I'd do exactly the same as you. I wouldn't contact the CAB or a solicitor for advice. No, I'd register on an internet messageboard and with my very first post spill out the contents of my life to total strangers. And demand compensation. " creates a feeling of someone who has nothing better to do with their life than trolling forums,

  • ok well thanks for all your replies, I have just recieved a telephone call from the manager at the store, he said he has spoken to the security manager in question and he has apologised. I then asked the question i wanted the answer to! what was it i did that made him suspect me. he said ive veiwed the cctv in question and the answer is nothing i completly agree with you, he said he agreed that i was treated terribly, He says he will put a goodwill gesture in the post, I dont care what or how much, its the thought that counts, thats the spirit. even if its £5 shows they appreciate my custom, and that i was treated wrongly,

£5, well if it makes you feel better and lessens your panic attacks.

To be honest, if I felt like you feel about how you were treated i would tell them to stick ther good will gesture where the sun doesn't shine and i wouldnt spend another penny in the shop.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I'm glad you got some sort of resolution you feel more settled with but I do have to ask.....do you think it will lessen your panic attacks? I wondered if you were feeling better emotionally about this situation then it might have a knock on effect and you wont feel as upset at the thought of going out shopping again?

no of course i dont feel better about it, but less angry at their customer service, and of course its not going to make things easier, but neither is anything so, all i wanted was some sort of,
    "yes we appreciate your custom"
