back last night and really enjoyed it,arrived in bergen 2 hours late but home on time.the only problem was drunken norweigans on way home, meals werent too hot in resturant either which we are gonna write and complain about, the drinks prices were £2.25 for 2 small coffees,£3.40 pint lager, cola £2 large glass,we won another cruise on pop quiz and sold it to a norweigan football fan,it had to be used by 31st march, crossing was ok luckily weather was calm, had no problems with staff onboard always friendly,

the cabins were quite small,we had one on deck 8 with bunk beds, sofa, bathroom, shelf, mirror and coat rack,i didnt buy much on board just vodka, martini, various chocs,we only had 3 breakfasts and 1 dinner on board as we had meal b4 we left and took a salad, crisps, mini cakes for travelling, the entertainment was a group at night(who were ok)through the day just had bingo at 1pm and music quiz at 3pm,bingo was 4.50,quiz free, fashion show was on aswell, group inbar started on and off from 4.45,i only really got bored on homeward part,,we saved money taking travel mugs and mini kettle, the coffee is quite strong on board,i think the noisy norwiegans was more of them due to newcastle/liverpool match today who they all supported, are u still goin?hope u enjoy it
  • Hi pondie1.

Thanks for reporting back and glad you enjoyed it.

Couple of questions if I may:

Do they take £ sterling on board or does it have somewhere to change money into Kroner (I take it you have to use Kroner when in Bergen)?

Was there much to see/do in Bergen?

    Cheers,

they do take sterling in all parts of ship, the till receipt is made out in both currencies, very good rate we got of 12.33kr on board, the currency exchange is on guest service desk on deck 6,bergen has plenty of museums and a train ride to top of mountain(£6 each or you can buy family ticket)otherwise not too much to do really,if you need shopping while in bergen there is lots of rema1000 supermarkets ,one near the ferry port, the large crisps bags on board were 15kr 100g bag and in supermarket in bergen 14kr for 300g bag, food is expensive in bergen,we went to a cake shop (near train to mountain top) and it cost approx £6 for 2 slices gatuax and 2 coffees, mcdonalds is around 70kr for meal, but 20kr for a mcchicken sandwich or cheap burger and drink in burger king,a lot of shops in bergen dont open till 10am,we left ship at around 9.30am,you get a bergen 2007 guide book in with tickets at check in,anyone with children there is only a ball pool and tv playin cartoon network type programmes for them, souvenirs werent very cheap in bergen, a fridge magnet cost 38kr in shops compared to 22kr on ship, few offers in leaflet in with tickets for cigarettes 2x 200 b&h for £39.99,and offers on spirits hope this helps

  • Sorry the Missus has just asked me to ask - is it OK leaving stuff in your cabin while you're ashore?

    Cheers,
