Poohbear - five males here, none of whom lift a finger to help willingly. I had mostly been on strike for weeks because I am having problems with my hips and knees and I only cracked and did it all on Friday because I hate the mess. Paying for it now though, sore is an understatement.
It sounds just like my house! My hips and wrists are the problem ATM. DH has been at work but the other four stay in their rooms all day:mad:
I am seriously resisting doing what you have done and making it worse. At least 2 of them will be gone in the next week or so. Fewer pairs of shoes lying around etc. :)

Crafty - Which one do you least resent having to go to? It is swings and roundabouts depending on your self control. IMHO you are better applying the meal plan, list and stick to it (just enough cash in purse if need be) and going to the place that actually stocks the things you want. Are you on the Grocery Challenge thread - they are a friendly bunch too.
I second that! GC really helped me.I have done lots of research and find ASDA and Aldi the cheapest within striking distance from here. Asda is 35 miles so a delivery works out cheaper than driving and saves on impulse buys.

Not dressed yet but we have had breakfast at least. I must deal with the ironing and do the childrens homework before I get too tired - too much bendy twisty gardening yesterday after too much cleaning on Friday :o.

I am dressed but haven't been downstairs yet. I think I am using flying avoidance tactics.

Well I've found a recipe for lemon posset to use up my double cream - just need to buy an unwaxed lemon to make them, as I've got a plastic lemon, but plastic zest just wouldn't be the same.:rotfl:Think we'll have it with some ginger nut biscuits as I have some of those in, rather than making the recommended shortbread. tongue0018.gif
TThank you, I was wondering what to do with my cream. I have 4 lemons in the fridge :) And gingernut biscuits too. I will be very good and not have any:D Still trying to lose weight.

I am going to put the slow cooker on soon and make a warming stew for today's dinner. It is wet and cold here.

DH has suggested that I 'look after myself' and ignore things that need doing around the house but I can't sit and relax in it.

Hex I feel like you about needing to ask for jobs to be done around the house. Though DS3 did lots of cleaning with his sister yesterday as he said he couldn't stand it any longer so maybe DH's idea will work. I think yours have a better excuse as some of them are a lot younger.

DB reckons that as all of mine have been so good about doing things around the house since they were tiny that we have turned them off being helpful. One of mine turned the TV up extra loud so that he could hear the Simpsons while I was vacuuming the other day:mad:

  • I suppose I should go downstairs and face it all:(
    My stomach is complaining.

    Hello ladies & welcome Dontknowanymore,

We are back from football....they got beat - again. Little one is getting really disheartened and I dont want to end up like we did last season with him refusing to go..... Noone wants to complain to the coach though.

Anyway.......more importantly! I have emptied the WM again and hung up the clothes and have put some bits in the dryer and am about to fold up the clothes which came out.

Im not sure about putting another wash on yet though as Im washing it quicker than I can dry it and am running out of places to hang things!

    xx

  • Well am I a happy Mummy! Bub who is 9 weeks slept through the night! :j I woke up at 5.30am in a panic! He's making up for it now though as he's being a major grump and has clung onto me like a baby koala all morning, hence no flying. Have done wm and td x2 and that's it. Hopefully be able to settle him this afternoon and get on with it. Here's the plan:

1-2pm: feed bub, dishes, s&s kitchen
2-3pm: Mr T for cat food I forgot yesterday (I always forget cat food *headdesk*)
3-4pm: bathroom and DS1's room lists, laundry away
4-5pm: feed bub again, S&s LR

Going to check lists then get on with it. I'm determined, even if I have to carry bub around in the sling while I'm doing I wont be beaten...

  • Thanks sexy - the ginger cake recipe sounds gorgeous - I'll be making a note of that and making it one day as I always have those ingredients in

Sorry fellow flyers - definitely no flying today with how I feel - did manage to stick the soup on to cook at last (been on my list all week) so thats cooking ready for meals in the week. Better have a rifle through to see what else is in there

    So far
    Banana Loaf
    Ginger Cake
Pasta and Aubergine bake in tom sauce
    Fish and potatoes and veg

Will have a think about meal planning easily from the freezer this week and put a plan together to use up some ingredients and make some room for the gammon to go in the freezer

Hello my twin, didn't know your hips and knees were sore too x

I am with Dusty on the 'no complaining about what can't be fixed' so I hadn't said anything about hurting.

Great minds and gardeners think alike - brought myself some eupatorium today (the chocolate one) at the little nursery. I got 3 x 2l ones and they are very pot bound so should cut into 5 or 6 plants :D They are to replace the slide which goes through the bed and is on ebay :D

I do have a little shout up on Day 23 of most months. DH is great at DIY sort of jobs and DS1 will help with gardening jobs. DS2 will clean windows and DS3 is a pedantic Aquarian! The rest well it's down to me but as I'm the one who cares I do it for me.

Not done loads. Took DS1 to reffing - hence the garden centre trip - well it was just up the road and saved coming back and there are two close to each other and I had a few vouchers and I needed a pot for my large Bishop Dahlia who's pot broke last week. Got a couple of great birthday cards and a christmas present for one of the boys or DH so all in all a good trip :T

    Plan:
    clean bathroom
    fix DS1 laptop
    HHG - transplant dahlia
paperwork, more paperwork and then a bit more!

Oh and fancy making german apple cake and must use the toms - I need a recipe for pasta sauce made with fresh toms please Found a dellia one - anybody cooked it before?
