Weekly Flylady Thread 13th September 2010

Poohbear - five males here, none of whom lift a finger to help willingly. I had mostly been on strike for weeks because I am having problems with my hips and knees and I only cracked and did it all on Friday because I hate the mess. Paying for it now though, sore is an understatement.
Crafty - Which one do you least resent having to go to? It is swings and roundabouts depending on your self control. IMHO you are better applying the meal plan, list and stick to it (just enough cash in purse if need be) and going to the place that actually stocks the things you want. Are you on the Grocery Challenge thread - they are a friendly bunch too.
Serena - got DH to agree last night that we need to buy vast quantities of kaufmania tulips or yet more crocus so I can do a blanket of colour through the main sloping bed that divides the patio from the rest of the garden, it is 10m long by 2.5 m wide and is fairly bare. Need to have a plan and a good search on Peter Nyssen. It is our main winter view from the big dining room window so worth it if I can protect it from the animals.
Not dressed yet but we have had breakfast at least. I must deal with the ironing and do the childrens homework before I get too tired - too much bendy twisty gardening yesterday after too much cleaning on Friday.

Morning all, well after waking up this morning with dread in my tummy I have decided that I need to sort it out, I have lived in my flat for just 3 months and it is so cluttered it's rediculous!!!!!!!!
I've been doing a big clean today, basically doing as much as possible in preperation for starting flylady properly tommorrow.
The last fortnight have been really life changing to me, my Nan died (whom I am very close to) then after 9 months of tears tantrums and heartache I had a final court date, that went really well, (no i wasn't up on charges lol) so I just need to get my self sorted out, as living in a messy flat is doing my mood no good!!!!!
Hope it's ok to just barge in, I might be a bit quiet at first, but i'm sure soon enough you wont be able to shut me up! :rotfl:0 -

Have a :xmastree: so our official meeter and greeter (or one of her minions) will see you.
Chatting we do well :rotfl: but more chat than fly during the week and you might be dodging a fluffy mule.
hex2 - hugs and:mad::mad::mad: at your useless men.
Do they not realise you are in pain or not understand that the jobs need doing?
Sorry, hugs for wilf as well.
Sounds as if a few of us are having a bad morning.
So I have put a big pile of hugs, spoons and posi-vibes in the corner - please grab what you need.0 -
Hi Dontknowanymore and welcome to the thread.
:xmastree:
Toots will send you a welcome PM, but in the meantime just jump in. Pick something that is annoying you and spend half an hour doing something about it. Tell me when you are doing it and I will join you, its that or I remain glued to the sofa for ever.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Morning all,
Been up for a while, and just catching up online with everything. Managed to do a bit of flying before I left to meet my friend yesterday (hoover-dusted the bedroom, cleaned the toilet) and Moon and I changed the sheets last night before we went to bed. Moon hates doing this, and will always try to get into the dirty sheets before we change them, so they hadn't been done for a couple of weeks, as last weekend we both had a headache and couldn't be bothered.
Plan of action for today:
Do at least 2 loads of washing;
Empty and reload DW;
Pack lunch ready for work tomorrow (in case I get a call);
Find a recipe to use up the double cream in the fridge and make it;
Do a 27 fling boogie.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

I honestly think its how you shop, not where - obv unless you shop in m and s for food.
Unless you buy exactly the same each week, its hard to compare.
Even waitrose, I think, is only more expensive because I pick up more yummy things because there are more there IYSWIM.
So...depends how you shop/what you buy.
.:o:o
OK I only get two things from them - breaded fish and mac cheese (I do split it and get two portions) I cannot get a cheese sauce with that consistency and taste.
Mind you I am amazed at the people doing all their shop there - fruit veg etc.0 -
My local M&S do some really good reductions (yellow stickered) and I reckon if I went at the right time I could do the whole shop for less than elsewhere, if I was careful! I do Tesco online usually, with the odd Sainsburys or M&S top up (though try and avoid sains after bad experience with delivery, but at the moment needs must and it's the closest of we jsut need one thing). I think Grateful is right and it's how you shop not where that makes the difference. I think I've now hit a happy medium with shopping - buy decent stuff (dh goes mad if i get too cheap stuff as says it's false economy) and we spend about £90-100 once a month online plus a few top ups. I think in the new budget for my mat leave he has put £200 a month which should be plenty.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Morning all,
So far, I have done HHI, changed bed, been to Mr T and DW on. Haven't put shopping away yet- I hate that bit! I usually get DH to do it, but he is out all day at the footy. So it's just me - a big list - and 3 grumpy cats stuck in 'cos of the rain which is torrential! Just going to phone DM then I shall fly.......

So sorry for your loss. Be gentle with yourself as you are grieving.
Looking forward to getting to know the "new you"Craftyscholar wrote: »:o:o
