    Good idea.

I was just having a look at justcover.ie (I live in Ireland), at their Annual Multi Trip policy.

At €78 for all the family, I nearly broke the habit of a lifetime and bought it.......but look at this:

Now am I reading that wrong or does it say that if you need emergency hospital treatment abroad you have to pay the first €55k of it, and the insurance company will pay the rest?

    No
It means that if you have Private Health Insurance it will be expected to cover any costs up to 55k (or higher if that policy dictates) and then the travel policy will kick in.

Did you just ignore the next paragraph?

If you require hospital out-patient treatment, or you do not have Private Health Insurance please contact FirstAssist Emergency Service who will provide immediate help in the event of an Insured Person’s illness or injury arising outside Ireland – they provide a 24 hour multi-lingual emergency service 365 days a year and can be contacted by telephone or fax.

No, that next paragraphs which you've quoted relates to hospital out-patient treatment. The preceeding paragraphs, which I quoted, relates to in-patient treatments (which is what you'd need if you had a serious accident, no?).

Are you sure? I can't see that it says that.

you need to read it again....OR there's a big word there...:) lucylucky gets it...it does say what lucylucky says it does.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Ah yes, I see that now.

Ok, another question.. Later on it says,
    3) PERSONAL MONEY
    Up to
E400 if your own money is lost or stolen whilst being carried on your person or left in a locked safety deposit box.
    Then it says:
    YOU ARE NOT COVERED
    1) for the first E125 of each and every incident per each insured person involved in the incident
So what does that mean, that each person is actually only covered for €275 and not €400?

    Seems to mean that.

Hefty excess, there are certainly better policies out there with lower excesses.
  • Ok guys thanks I'm going to look in to some policies now and we shall see.

Sorry for appearing stupid but do ye not see how confusing these policies are like?
