As we were all up 6amish (DS2 getting a cold!), we went car boot, boys got some army stuff lots of it at 50p a bag made up by the lads sellling it. They are pleased.
Just listed on ebay and just want to sleep but got more ironing to do and make shepards pie for tea. OH is playing with the boys so were just going to stay in even though its brighter than yesterday. Any news on Falady? xxMum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -

Flutterby - I'm having the same as you for my tea - stuffed pepper, roasted new pots and veggies:) I just adore your recipe, my favourite meal at the moment:T
Glad you like it. I am doing it slightly different today. I have leftover tomato and basil risotto in the freezer, which was a bit boring on it's own. So I'm using it to stuff the peppers instead of my normal stuffing. I had it the other week and it tasted yum. I have loads of peppers in at moment cos they are on offer in Lidl. They have giant bag (approx 8 peppers) for £1.19.
It's a raft race going on in the dock. Looks like sea cadets, army cadets and someone else. They have only just set off, been faffing for 2 hours! Looks fun though.

Hya,
All the best for Tuesday Jayward
Welcome MrsPiglet:)
Beef Better than Roast recipe:
About 2 and a half lb beef (we usually use salmon cut silverside from Morrisons but today it is the half price roast from Sainsbugs)
2 onions chopped
1 tsp garlic granules (or 4-5 fresh cloves)
2 tins chopped tomato and 1 tin water
1 generous glass red wine
1tsp mixed herbs
2 beef stock cubes.
Heat oven to max. Put onions into a casserole dish. Put beef on top and add other ingredients. Place in oven and turn temp down to 180C. Leave for 1 and a half hours. This makes its own sauce. We use this as gravy and have ordinary gravy as well. The lo sauce makes a great pasta sauce with the addition of some lean steak mince. We don't always do beef this way but the joint doesn't shrink and so is quite economical.
Hugs to all who need them x0 -
NPM I'd go with the Crystals to walk out to, although I love The Tourists and no one can sing like Annie. In fact, I would suggest dumping the Amy Winehouse song as it has dark, unhappy undertones, and have The Tourists playing then. Cakes baked and in the oven ,washing blowing on the line ,3.5 litres of chunky veggie soup cooking in my SC made from whoopsied veg from the other day which cost me around 60p.
Carrots, parsnips, yellow pepper, mushrooms, baby cauliflower, plus a couple of sticks of celery from the fridge and a handful of lentils and a big dollop of lazy garlic. This should make me enough soup for the week.By the time I come home from DDs tonight it will be ready to pot up in my jugs for the fridge.I will have this for lunch with some crusty bread or as a starter for my dinner in the evening, means I use less meat for dinner then .just off to put my feet up and have a nice coffee as I have been a busy bee this morning .0 -
JackieG when you say dark unhappy undertones do you just mean her voice makes it sound dark and unhappy or do you mean where the song came from ( "to know him was to love him" was on Phil Spectors fathers epitaph after he committed suicide......but that isnt what the song is about)
I am a big Spector fan and wanted some of his stuff involved. A musical genius but sadly came from a family with mental illness problems and he didnt escape it.
The other one I had in my head for the register was either of these versions of this song.

i wish I wasnt such a music freak then it would be easy.
At least I have sorted out what to walk out to lol0 -
Her voice, and I always thought the song was about unrequited love? But I suppose everyone interprets music differently. Love the new choice, its a brilliant song, but have the original Ronettes version. I saw the lead singer from the band at a Motown revival show about 14 years ago with my MIL, she was amazing, in fact all the music was,. I can't really remember everyone who performed, but it was a brilliant concert, I love all that type of music too. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
