I thought it was free to advertise on gumtree (the fraudsters choice it seems for every scam in the book)

The respondent has offered to upload work records which seems to me to break data protection.

Also, i find it interesting how the aggreived accused always finds a thread about themselves on the net. Its like you google your name and fraud and wayhay.

Anyone who posts to say they are in a loss position on their business against a backdrop of people not given a refund dont help their case.

The trouble with being such a prolific liar is that he cannot possibly remember all the lies he has told to all the people. One passage in his lengthy reply has proved him a liar in my opinion " I rely on the proceeds of wholesales to repay investors ". Surely deposits taken were paid into a high interest account ? That is what I was told in your office, I don't forget items of info like that, lie once and you will be considered a liar always. A deposit is not for the company to use as it sees fit, but simply for safekeeping, especially if you have promised this will be returned in the event the investor wishes to stop, so now we have theft ! The fact that he has replicated the system several times now means he is a fraudster ! Some choose to call it a Scam, it is basically the same, fraudsters, theives and liars who continue to ply their illegal trade are generally known as scammers. All this is actual fact and therefore not libelous. All this would not be here in the first place if investors had been re-imbursed in full and not been kept waiting with the most bizarre excuses I have ever known. The recent news that the banks have very high amounts of compliants must all come from Jones as his bank never seems to be able to complete the transaction he just asked them to do ! His must be the only company that never gets anything done properly. He has paid out so much money so many times but it never goes anywhere so he still has it or never had it in the first place or has a serious illness that means he cannot part with it !
Just pay up, no excuses, just cash. If you are such an honest businessman, you wouldn't be in it upto your neck would you ?

Save & Prosper (ironic really) is where he told me the money was.
Then it came as a great surprise to him that he had to give 7 days' notice to withdraw such a large amount as 2.5k.Then he had family problems.Then he was away for a week.Then he ran away.
And then, and it must have been in my sleep 'cos I certainly don't remember doing it, I tampered with his office locks and terrorised his (estranged) "wife" and kids.WRONG!!!!!!

Yes, I did start this thread with "scam" in the title because I didn't know then what we all know now.I just wanted my money back and to stop him catching anyone else in his nasty little net.
I guess I'm the straw that broke this camel's back.

You know img, you have a point there about libel, albeit he cannot successfully sue for libel, if what you are saying is true regarding his post about locks, family blah blah blah, You CAN prove libel, legally and successfully, it might just be a good idea to think about mate.

There is currently a train of thought that comments made on a internet forum such as this are more akin to slander than than libel. I seem to remember Mr Justice Eady in the high court last year (or it might be the year before) making the comments that it was more like conversation with various participants than a newspaper article.

Proving slander is somewhat more difficult, however both actions are only for the well heeled, there is no legal aid for such things

Yeah, actually Von29 whereabouts is he? I've heard from Trading Standards and the Police that they've got a new address for him which apparently they've visited on a couple of occasions - the first time they went they could see him hiding in the kitchen!! Although being an honourable man of his word (and CERTAINLY NOT a conman) he must have been suffering one of those "illnesses" that seems to befall him and all that know him sufficient to prevent him from answering the door. The act of a truly honourable man of his word (and CERTAINLY NOT a conman) - hiding in the kitchen.

Has anyone heard anything from him? Anyone had any money back? I'm pretty sure he knows now that his game is over and I'm also sure that he now knows that we all know too. ALL of us. I wonder if he's got any airtime yet? Irrelevent really; I don't think you're allowed to use mobiles in prison.
