You have bought the books for just over £4 each, so you may be able to sell them on at a profit. What are the books about?
    Try googling Strangest Books

Yes I have got the books, and according to our signed agreement I may not attempt to retail them to any retailer or outlet not designated by the supplier.

Nuts to that though, you can have them for two grand!;)

I was going to suggest trying to sell them individually on Amazon or eBay but having looked at the prices on there, you'd probably lose quite a bit of money.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • I too was duped out of considerably more than you albeit for more stock though. The opportunity sounded as you say reasonable and for the stock a deposit ( fully refundable) supported in writing, all sounded and seemed above board. All this leads me to suspect a carefully hatched plan to generate funds is really what transpired. Alas his actions have left a trail of evidence that the fraud office would be most interested in I believe or should be. This is nothing short of systematic theft, carefully planned and exercised. For someone who has a wife and two small girls I am at a loss as to how he could live with himself with so much at stake. By day a liar, cheat, theif, conman, scammer etc, by night a family man !
You can also rest in the knowledge that he will almost certainly be reading all your posts !

Many criminals have a husband/wife and children.

I don't agree with Jones' business methods but as he has "sold" you the books at around the price a retailer would buy from wholesaler/publisher, it may be difficult trying to prove you have been conned as you have paid money and received goods.

As binused rightly points out, Jones will almost certainly be following this thread so I can't say too much. But I can assure you that I can prove his guilt m'lud.
