Which London Travelodge?

Options
We are going to London in Janary and was wondering which are the better Travelodges. It doesn't have to be right in the centre. We have stayed at Covent Garden and although the location was great the rooms were a bit iffy, compared to others we have stayed at out of London.

  • Not sure what you mean by iffy, we go to that one everytime we have stayed in London and have found it fantastic everytime. Stayed at Liverpool street and City Airport but still prefer Covent Garden.
  • There seemed to be a problem with damp in the room we were in the last time. Maybe we were just unlucky. It is certainly a good location.
  • If you have only stayed there once then i would give it another go. As i say we have stayed there as a family in the family rooms and have always been happy with the rooms. Yes it is a fab location, ideal for most places.

  • Euston is a good, new travelodge. Slightly further out than covent garden but so handy for the tube/train and nearly all buses and it's really not much of a walk down Holborn into town. Having said that Covent Garden is still my fave for location, better if you get the newer building than the old one off Drury Lane up all those steps (not good in the ice with a pushchair!)

the one in waterloo only opened a couple of months ago so should be in good condition and near to the station, we are staying there next month so can report back then.

Really depends where you are going to be visiting in London, choose one near to that. Covent Garden is liable to be cramped and noisy because that's the nature of the area, choose one a bit further out of the West End in that case.

Southwark is a good one as fairly new, with an air conditioning unit on the wall of the rooms. 2 mins walk from Southwark Tube station and about 10 minutes walk from there to Waterloo for the Eye, London Aquarium Embankment, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben etc. Imperial War Museum nearby too. Boats go from the Embankment to the Tower if you fancy a change from the tubes or buses.

Barking gets very good reviews on tripadvisor.Out of town, and a bit of a dodgy area but TLodge looks fine.Wembly, different story but we are booked into both in the next month or so.
Had a good nights sleep at City Road last year, although some reviews complain of noise from the nearby bar.

Another vote for Southwalk. But preferred the premier inns at county hall and euston. Much better beds c

Yes i do agree that we have always stayed in the newer one. They told me the first time we stayed that they use that one for families and the older style one for couples, not sure how true that is but maybe worth booking a family room as they done charge much extra from a twin!
