Annie and I have decided to go head to head starting 6th Jan on a 3k challenge. We will be aiming to clear 500 pounds a month with the final 3k being reached on 1st July 2007. If any one wants to join us we will post a monthly update. Sorry that it starts before the 11th finallydebtfree but I'm eager to start ASAP and batter my debt to 0. It was so satisfying ringing Egg to tell them that I wanted to close my card account with them earlier this week and I want that adrenalin rush again as soon as I can get it!! Luv Jxx
Maybe would could start new thread on first day of challenge and use 1st page as a money making guide page. Anyone who joins could post ideas to whoever opens thread and has 1st page and then they can gradually add 'trade secrets' to it so anyone joining challenge can hopefully benefit from any ideas (does this make sense!!!)
Anyway I'm soooooo looking forward to starting challenge - must be one of the best new years resolutions I've been involved in.
I shall be running mini challenge alongside to lose some weight for my holiday in August - challenge is to lose 7lb a month (3 1/2 stone by 7th August) as well as gain £500 so if anyone would like to join me in that one please feel free. I shall start weight loss challenge on 3rd Jan.

What sort of gold? I have a little gold bracelet with a 925 stamped on the backle and it did not sell on ebay (£5)

    Thanks.

From what little research I did, any gold but obviously the more gold content, the better i.e. 24ct rather than 9 ct.....I think just make sure you get as much info into the title. I don't think 925 is a gold measurement - it's silver isn't it? Maybe it was gold plated.

Apparently there's plenty of cheap gold jewellery to be had at boot sales and fairs, just make sure you get the hallmarked stuff.
  • I'd still like to do a £1024 type challenge but maybe go on for a few extra weeks (never tried to make a thousand in a week before, and maybe if i did it would save me having to find a new job!)
Debt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO
  • hey ben about we just do this challenge over a longer period, dont think I have the time to try and make £500 a month what with working full time and extra in the first part of the new year
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!

Ooh, a new challenge.... that would be fun! I'm determined to get back into car booting and ebaying etc, not just the matched betting. I haven't been able to raise my total much lately but I'm really pleased with what I've managed in 10 weeks... money I wouldn't have had otherwise! :T It gave me the kick up the bum required to get into matched betting and the money from that will keep coming once I find some spare time again :D

Have decided its not worth ebaying any more now cos its getting a bit close to christmas... am hoping for some cheaper listing days and the like after the 25th... there's usually a "sell your unwanted presents and buy what you really wanted" type promotion. :rotfl:

Ben I am way behind target and can't see anyway of catching up before my 11 weeks ends at Christmas. But when I started the challenge, it was with the intention of raising money so that I could change my car for a newer one. I am going to carry on until I reach my target.
As you have already mentioned, there may be the odd unwanted gift or sale bargain after Christmas. So why don't we just extend this challenge? "We could be millionaires by next Christmas Rodney"- I mean Ben.:D
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D

Hmmm, thinking about it, I think i'd really like to just keep going with this total that I have, rather than starting from 0 again! Just cos there's more scope to increase it quickly, especially as I'm into the matched betting offers that require a large balance in betfair to match. It will be really great to just see the total going up and up, and know it started from nothing :D

Are we planning a final list of how everyone's done by the end of the 11 weeks (for those who are finishing soon)?

  • I just seem to win at the other one and not betfair!! I've gained a profit of £94.81 from matched betting so far with a bet placed for today as well. I don't seem to be making the hundreds of pounds everyone else is but £30 a week for nothing is still good in my book! Still about £1500 a year!
  • carrying on sounds like a great idea! maybe we could do that, starting again would be tough as ive just been lucky so far!
