Hi everyone...
Really interested in joining this challenge, £1024 would pay off two of my debts and to do that in 11 weeks would be a miracle!
I have read bits and pieces of this thread but it would take me all day to read all 84 pages... can someone tell me what I need to do?
I have some books listed on Amazon, some of which were gifts so could this be where I start?0 -
from what i understand ( and i may be wrong) match betting is all about getting the free money from the bookies sites.
so for example if i site is offering £25 free you usually have to put a £25 pound bet on to get it. so you place a bet for £25 then lay a bet finding the closest odds possible on the same game i.e bet man u to win and lay them to lose with odds of 2.1 to win and 2.0 to lose. then you cant lose you may initially lose pennies but you will get your free bet to than turn into cash and make your profit from.
i think thats it please correct me if im wrong before i through any money into it.
hthback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -

That sounds like a good start! There's nothing very complicated to it... just make money from nothing to get you started! Then you can take the money you've earned and use it to make more (charity-shop-then-put-it-on-ebay-ing or matched betting etc) and/or keep making money from stuff like gifts and free stuff! :T
There's a timetable for the 11 weeks on the first post but we're quite far into it now so you might want to make your own timetable from now... the idea is to start with a pound in the first week and double it each week to get to £1024! :T Obviously its good to try and get ahead of yourself as it become harder and harder to double the money later on.

You have it right! :T
On a £25 bet you could expect to lose a pound perhaps (depending on how much time you spend looking for a very close match) and then you could hope to get back about £22 of the free bet (depending on whether the stake is returned with the winnings - see matched betting threads!) so you should come out with £20 profit, if not more! :T
Make sure to check your figures with the helpful people advising on the newbie thread, check and double check!!Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. £16 - by 3rd Dec
£32 - by 10th Dec
£64 - by 17th Dec
£128 - by 24th Dec
£256 - by 31st Dec

This may have been posted already but this might be a good one to start off with http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=295116
Might be able to sell the DVD on eBay or Amazon!0 -
jpwhittle and kathfish - i havent done any matched betting yet as still trying to fully understand it, but I'm not sure you have got it right (if i've understood your post properly). I think you need to bet and lay the same outcome whereas in your example you're betting on man u to win but laying them to lose. i think you have to bet and lay to win (or both to lose?)
Please tell me if I'm wrong though as I want to have a go and dont want to lose!0 -
Turtle, you're right there - and I never even noticed that! JPWhittle has got it ex except for the point that you must always back and lay the same outcome i.e. back Arsenal to win and lay an Arsenal win. The newbie thread is great - very helpful - and download the matcher spreadsheet and spend a day running endless odds and amounts through it to get familiarised - it makes a massive difference to your grasp of how it works (well, it did to mine).
Welcome MissMuppet and good luck!! :T
Cooltrikerchick - PM me if you want any info on setting up your own website - happy to tell you what I did to get mine up and running (well...nearly).0 -

I think everyone's saying the same thing, just expressing it in a different way
To clarify, back Man U at the bookie, lay Man U at Betfair..0 -
thanks for the information freebird65 have had twice the amount of views on the page since changing the title so hopefully the extra information will attract more interest and hopefully more bids!!
