I wondered whether anyone had taken on overtime or a second job to put money towards the challeng - but I don't think that that's free money coz your paying in time - but then I suppose you could argue that you spend time ebaying too.

My total is down to 67.24!!! (pound signs not working either - don't know whats going on with my pc)

I've invested in a silk scarf to sell on ebay. I haven't put it up yet coz I can't get the light right to stop a shadow when I'm trying to take the photo. I've listed 3 charity shop items though so fingers crossed!!

I've put a reminder on my mobile to place 5 matched bets on Friday morning as well which I'm sort of starting to get a bit excited about again. I haven't done it for a month and have been a bit slow getting back in to it, but if I make it a regular thing then hopefully the pounds will start rolling in and my total will look a bit healthier!!

Hope everyones had a good day,

    Luv Jxxx

  • PLEASE don't, anyone, bet your money away! Matched betting, or betting with other people's money, is fine. But betting is NOT moneysaving - you will lose, on average. Which means that the group will lose, IYSWIM. Does anyone else feel as strongly about this as I do? I don't have ethical reservations, by the way, it really is just that I think an outbreak of gambling will lose the group money! :(

I think if people want to bet that's fine I guess - no ethical ojections like you say - but I don't think its a sensible thing to do! I would rather be happy in the knowledge that I'd made a reasonable amount from nothing than waste it all trying to hit a really high target.

The weekly targets are a great motivator but not worth risking loads for in my opinion. Some people will make more than others through a combination of luck, skill and time available but any amount you've made is not worth risking.

But that's just me! I'm much happier with matched betting... am up to £98 profit now and its growing steadily! :T :D

Why bet and risk losing when you can matched bet and just win?

  • has anyone done overtime or a second job to get a little more towards the total

    Oh, yes!

I don't seem to find any bargains in charity shops  so this is what I have lined up...

    1. Comming Saturday I am giving out flyers again = £68, travel and lunch paid for.

    2. Doing some book-keeping for a neighbour = £200 in 2 weeks time

    3. Mistery shopping thing this week = £10 (don't know when)

Also I got some fabric and made a Topshop-like bag. Got a bid already (£1.99), should have priced it higher maybe.

    That's me :o

Oh, ali007, it is a sad story... I am about £7.5k in debt and am trying my best to clear it by Jul next year.

No,no, no, I did not mean to complain. I am learning my lesson and who knows one day I will move into a small Georgian house somewhere in the middel of Dorset, or Devon, or .... have not dicided yet.;)

Soscrooge - Wow - that's a harsh target you've got yourself there!! - I'm over 4k in debt and my DF date is a month after yours.

I too am going to move into a nice country home with land so I can have a couple of horses and I also would like goats, ducks and chickens - I haven't decided where yet either - am going to decide that nearer the time!!
