Dodger wrote:At last, received cheque from FHM this morning.....£27 now on its way to the bank.:T Took some time to arrive (waiting since 04th Oct!). Rang them yesterday to see if it had gone astray in the Post but was reassured by their customer services that due to the recent £10 promotion that there was a huge backlog, Must have been all us MSE'ers cashing in!;)
Anyway....now have cash to spend for the challenge, charity shop trawl turned up a few items for E-Baying so will get them on this weekend.
Just a quick thought though....is it better to wait till Sunday and list for 7 days (listing to start at about 8 in the evening) to get a decent audience or just list them asap and include a Sunday. Reason for asking is I seem to remember someone commenting on E-Bay listing times in a previous post but can't find the post now.
spent last 10 mins trying to figure out what is no doubt just plain obvious...lolSave 12k in 2015 member 187. £62.50/60000 -

I tend to try and list Thurs/Fri evenings for 10 days as that way you catch two lots of weekend audiences.....
Wilf....the obvious...do you mean FHM? I wondered at first too! :rolleyes:0 -

I've had a better week this week. I've sold a few things on ebay and I have a few more to list. One of my friend's has had a clear-out and given me a bag of good clothes.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0 -

Dodger - If you list fixed price (buy it now only) format auctions then it doesn't matter when you list them because people could buy them at any time (although towards the end of the auction they'll be at the top of search results). You're best off going for 10 day auctions at fixed price, that way you're always getting the most time for your items.
When it comes to Auction style listings, I try to list mine in the early evening or at weekends. I'd go for 10 day on most of them (more chance of them being seen) but sometimes I'd set some at 7 day. It's handy if you have a lot of similar items on or want to sell your items sooner.
I'd say people tend to be online more around 8-11pm, and at weekends (especially Sundays). When it comes to cheaper listing days though I find it's better to list as much stuff as possible rather than worrying about what time or day it finishes.
Another thing you can do is list the bare basics of an auction then go back and revise it later to add more info or pics. There was one occasion where ebay said there would be charges for later revisions, but I've only seen that once. Normally you can revise stuff as much as you want (including the product category), just not the auction type.
I've never tried turbo lister but it's probably useful for uploading a lot of auctions if you're trying to meet a deadline. Sometimes it can get too busy on the ebay site during a cheap listing day and you can get page errors, so it might save that problem.

if you turbo list items and then go to upload on say thurs fri etc ie optimim time you can get lots of items listed when u perhaps have more time at premium selling tim
