Erm...
a) My username is Nej, not Jen... I'm a guy not a girl. That would also preclude selling my body... No-one is going to pay for that!
b) Lighten up (not neccessarily you, kittykate) everyone, it's a (not very witty) joke remarking on the awful state of some inner-city schools.0 -
I am sure that there is some sort of penny rolling game that could be done
Use 10p, and use the £6 as seed capital
5 players at 10p, winner gets 30p, organiser keeps 20p0 -
Thanks again for your ideas, people. The school is an all-girls convent so the jewellery/beads idea has been well-received.0

Perhpas they could make funky rosary beads - i'm not being disrespectful here, but would give a contempary twist on tradition.0

What about spending it on funky advertising for a "dress down" day (or MUFTY as its known in my workplace) when they can wear what they want (ie no uniform) for £1???0

Buy a copy of Good housekeeping this month...cost £3.20, coupons inside for £7...generate lots more money this way and use the profits for whatever you want to buy for school!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Hey I work in a middle class school and if you wanted to make money on the playgrounds, fags go for 50p a pop and cans of coke go for anything up to £1!
Seriously since Jamie Oliver got his hands on the school vending machines the most lucrative items are fizzy drinks, chocolate and sweets! The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -

Expanding on this, they could look at all the little odd jobs that teachers might need help with and draw up a price list - don't be too greedy with the tariff even though it is for charity.
I don't know, its a long time since I was at school but to get her thinking, things like
taking registers to the secretary
fetching cuppa for staff on breaktime duty
collecting in books
offer to be a class room assistant
helping to set up for lessons
maybe the caretaker needs help collecting litter or weeding etc7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

Just thought, I did a quiz for the parents of the nursery school. We asked for donations fro prizes and made up a couple of 'goodie hampers'.
The quiz itself was the initial letters of nursery rhymes.
ie: TTLS = twinkle twinkle little star
It was quite popular.
(I can probably find the word document if they want to cheat and have mine!)
You could be a bit more adventurous and do cryptic clues to local place names or numerical type questions (3F in a Y = 3 feet in a yard, 5F on a H = 5 fingers on a hand - I'm sure they could be more acedemic)7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0
