            Hi Everybody
thank you all so much for your comments. I had a look on the Old Style forum last night. OMG  you could get lost in there. I looked down and I must have had about 20 different pages opened. The more you read the more you seem to keep going from one thread into another.
Any way I have took some of the topics on board from reading. So this week I am going to try and start making the most of using my oven which should cut down the electricity bill. Therefore today I am going to cook mince pie for tea but I will cook three of them at once and not just one. Also at the same time I am going to cook a chicken for tomorrow, with roast pot and roast veg for tonight.
Also today I have made both the kids lunches to take to school and college. Having been paying out on school and college lunches both the kids said they really did not like them and would prefere a packed lunch. I cant believe they have not said before. This will save about £20 a week. Going to work on hubby next as his lunches cost a fortune.
Have a great day everybody and dont spend to much money today.

Thanks you so much for your help. I do think you need to cut back on shopping as alot of us do spend alot on items that we dont really need BUT I also think you do need to eat good quality meals as well.

            Hi Everybody
Well I ordered the loft insulation yesterday, as our house only has the bear minimum of insulation so it is the next step along to reduce the heating costs.
However, for the past ten years we have been putting stuff in there and it now looks like one of those houses you see on the tv that people have trouble of disposing of anything. You get the picture.
You should have saw my hubbys face when I told him what I had ordered, as reality hit home.
Any way on a more positive note, going to start to sort everything out and my plan is to do a car boot sale or two with the stuff which will pay for the loft insulation and have extra over for in the mortgage pot.
And we will have a clear loft.
 Wish me luck
