    Hi AS

Have been reading your diary. Sounds like you are doing really well. Normally I would have given in and put our heating on whenever I got cold but keep thinking of OP's! DH actually asked for it to go on yday (he doesn't feel the cold but was freezing from doing car boot sale) so I let him have half hour of it!!

Good luck with ebay, sounds like you have more luck than me!

    Hi

I made £78 last time from stuff around the house that nobody longer wanted or needed, which was great. Will have to wait and see what happens this time.

    Take care

    Hi

Well we did put the heating on for a little while last night as it was really really cold. I really wanted to wait till October but everybody was moaning what can I say.

  • Hi Everybody

Not done anything over the past few days as I have been ill, so really feel like I have fallen behind. Never mind.

Just checked my ebay and have had bids up to £59 so far so I am made up.

  • Just wanted to say hi, and let you know i was reading. You are doing what a few of us have. It all does get addictive. You'd think the speed our brains go at thinking of what we can do to overpay would lead to heating the house, but no joy. We too have had to resort to heating, but we only have it on a bit, and rather than turn it up i have took myself off to bed early twice this week. Less electric being used then too.

  • Hi Everybody

Not been on for a while as I have been busy after being ill. Well my ebay items are up tonight and tomorrow so will have to wait and see what happens. At the moment they are on £78 which is quite good for stuff that nobody wanted around the house.

When this lot has gone will have to relist the next batch of stuff. On another note the house is looking far better than it did.

Going to check the bank at the end of this week and see what money is over after all the bills have come out and then make another payment. I can pay an extra £900 this year so that is my new target as that takes me to the extra 10%, if you get me.

Any way have a great day everybody.

  • Hi Everybody

Well most of my items sold on ebay and I ended up with £108 which is really really cool. So getting near the next £500 mark again.

I did notice that ebay are having another free listing day on 9 / 10 October so it all starts again. will list the next batch of stuff and see what happens.

Any way decided next week to start looking at the food costs within the house and greatly reduce this.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Take care everybody and have a great weekend

  • Hi Everybody

Well put another few things on ebay last night and will do alot more tonight. So hope alot of them sell that would be great.

My next step is to look at the food and food shopping that we do. Next week I am going to do some batch cooking as I do think it is cheaper to do this and also save you alot of time so will beable to do other things.

I am also going to start using the food in the freezer as this will save on the shopping bill.

Any good ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  • you've motivated me to do some ebaying today so thanks

Re Food - I've just started freezing mashed potatoes and find if I put it in freezer bags and smooth the bag flat, I can snap just the right amount off for lunch/tea/toddler and pop it in the microwave. Doesn't take up much room, either!
