Hi
Sorry to hear you had such a rough time with the travel sickness and early mornings but really good news on the credit cards/money. Looks like you have been really productive and 12 years for sealant sounds like you had your money's worth if your current rainfall is a regular occurance.
Here I am running in treacle as some mischevious thing has exploded clutter and "to dos" all over my house
Hmm ... as for presents ... astronomy - telescope/kits/light shows on ceiling? Don't know if that helped but my 12 year old daughter would have loved it at 9!

Hi Emma!
I think a biks sounds like a good idea as long as there are parks / somewhere for him to ride it as I don't think it would be best to send him out on the road. A pool party sounds like a great plan too
Friday tomorrow - hurrah!0 -
Thanks butafli - yes, feel much better now and really must get some more sealant at teh weekend.
Astronomy.. now that is an idea.. but it has led me onto an even better idea for him. He is nutty about anatomy and bodies (animal as well as human).. He has some little skeletons/skeleton books etc, but maybe I could get him a HUGE skeleton.
sparkleisshopping: yes, that could be the problem - we dont really have parks here in the countryside. We are pretty close to the school, so he could go and ride around the playground in the evenings, but that is a bit boring...
Shall continue to ponder..
Very excited - Just got a 3 for 2 offer through for Elemis. Elemis has been my amazing/magic cure for life long, chronic eczema (well not cure obviously, but the change in my skin is incredible). I put sos emergency cream on my face twice a day instead of topical steriods and Skin nourishing milk bath in my bath every night instead of Oilatum. It is so much better. I still have to look after my skin a lot and be careful with weather etc, but I feel so much more 'normal' now. I figure I don't spend money on makeup (well occasionally I do, as I am trying to be a girl these days) or any other toiletries, so it is well worth the cost so I am not in pain (plus 13% cashback on quidco

:DHi Aurora-Emma, I have just clicked onto your diary and your lovely website. I love it all. I live in Bury, Lancs and I love the highlands of scotland etc and love islands off the coast. The furthest place I have been to in the north is Durness and Tongue. Stayed there for a week when I was married in 1991. Since then I have been Inverness, Oban, Ullapool and more. My friend is moving back to his parents from Bolton to a village near dumfries to get a job and start again at 34. I live alone, have two cats charlie and gracie, I am 43 and my daughter aged 12 lives with her dad in chester.
The thing I find difficult is seeing her because sometimes I have no money to travel and pick her up and bring her back.:(
I haven't got a diary on here, I dont think my life would be interesting enough to appeal to anyone.;)
Oh I love your VW, I have a Mx5 17 year old, but you cant camp in it lol.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -
Hi there butterliesarepretty - great name and I agree

Thank you for the compliments - really hiring out the vans is just a sneaky excuse to have the vans and build something together with my lovely oh of course
I'm sorry you find it difficult to see your daughter - it must be really hard - can you and your ex not share the cost of travel? We always go 50/50 on travel when my boys go to stay with their dad and when my partner's daughter comes here - it just seems the fair way to do it.
That is a snazzy car - is it a red one?LMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

We do share the travel, he drops her off and I take her back. Just sometimes I dont have money to take her back. My car is a black one, just too pricey on tax, its paid for too the car so no debts there.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -

Thing is... he would probably LOVE a share in your new petrol tank - one of my brothers could do with that actually - a joker at a garage told him to put a banana in his fuel tank to make the engine sound better and he did it....Hello there - quitely slopes in to wish you a *happy new diary* we share a love of campers, islands and of course all things fun and adventurish. I actually don't think I will ever stop laughing about that:rotfl:
Lovely to see you in diaryland - you do a good job of motivating me in r/l and I've bookmarked your diary now I have found it and will keep up to date with you here too.
(Fay lives just down the road from me and has a wonderful vw campervan called Darwin, as well as playing some part of the inspiration behind the campervan business - we even spoke about doing it together a few years back, which would have been brill if it had happened.)
Hopefully see you next week xLMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

Good morning diary world

This morning has dawned beautifully and calm. OH is happy because he can take the motorbike in to work and I am happy because the puppy won't try and pee in the house.
First thing I have done this morning is written a cheque for £1097.55, so am sitting quietly with a cup of tea to calm down again. We finally got the details about the central heating through from Scottish Gas yesterday. The good news is that we have qualified for the maximum grant, the bad news is I have to top it up myself. It isn't really bad news though as I will get a cracking, much more economical heating system for not a lot of money really. (Although mine has been very economical since June when it stopped working for the final time;) Shame my radiators and immersion heater haven't been quite so MSE.
Is going to be a busy Autumn (I hope!). The builder has stood us up a couple more times, but had a frank talk to him on the phone on Tuesday, so if he stands us up this Tuesday (it has been over 5 weeks!) we will find a different one.
Has anyone got any exciting Friday plans?LMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

Hi Emma, that's quite a cheque for a friday morning! You're right though, that's a really good price for new heating

This weekend my friends and their kids are coming over on saturday evening for a few hours. Her little boy is really into juggling and poi and she told him about me (I do fire poi) so he's looking forward to seeing me do some fire poi on saturday night. The rest of my weekend will be taken up with ebay listing as it's free listing weekend - hurrah!0
