He never showed up!.. grrrr. We stayed in all evening for him too and I had to do a bit of tidying (because I am too ashamed to let folk through the threshold in the house's usual state). I did make a start on the DLA form though. Need a run of an hour or so to get it finished.
Still haven't done my meal plan.
Infact today's list looks like- Meal plan and shopping list
- Sort out some serious work things
- Do more dla form
- Excercises
- Post letters and take amazon books to post office (have listed about 400 of my books on Amazon in an attempt to declutter a bit and make a few pennies. Sold about 100 since last year so far)
- Love to hoover out and give the new van its' first clean - weather dependant
- Wash the dog bedding (weather dependent)
- Chase up Virgin CC I applied for over weekend and look into the Tesco one that Primula recommended
Sure there are more urgent things but will leave it at that for now.
The exciting news is I think we have decided on a name for the new van. I am going to use it all day and see if it works for me.
There is wind and rain about and the sky is wild and brooding today - exciting and beautiful if you don't have to go out in it (or persuade the dog to go out for a pee in it)

phoned Egg card as my card was used fraudulently last month (first time ever!) so I have patiently been waiting for a new one. Just as well I phoned as they hadnt dispatched it yet. They wanted me to confirm more fraudulent activity on the cancelled card (scary stuff! hope they catch the beggars).Aurora_emma wrote: »- [STRIKE]Meal plan and shopping list[/STRIKE]

New card is on its' way now.
Then I remembered I might be able to put my egg money card into credit with a balance tranfer still like I used to in the days of needing a mule card to stooze. Must look into that once I get the card back and they have unlocked the online account.
Wish this wind and rain would go, I would love to do some outsidey stuff.LMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

Afternoon

Not good about the builder - I do the run around when people are coming but am slowly organising my home and am going to get to a day when someone turns up unexpectedly and I just open the door to welcome them in :rotfl: We don't do brooding just wet (I am north of Birmingham) - and it's still wet! Good luck on the DLA form, filled mine in online and did it over a few days too.
Here am just taking it easy and planning from now to January. I would have done to Christmas but have a few birthdays in January. Hope the weather breaks so you can get a few more things done.0 -
yes, Christmas planning is next isn't it. My youngest son is 9 at the beginning of October, so need to get that out of the way first though.
Well done getting the DLA form done.. They are such a headache. I hate having to think about my son in that way and think about the 'worst case days' and write them down. I just try and forget those.
I didn't know you could fill the DLA form in online - what about the person that does the supporting report for you? I was thinking about enclosing a recent social worker's review (building a case to get ILP support), but not sure that would be appropriate. I have his last form here from 3 years ago - is scary to read through and see what has changed.. and what hasn't. There are some bits I can copy over almost word for word.LMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

Morning
It must be hard doing DLA for your child. I just put in the details of the people who they could ask for a report rather than any reports as I don't actually have them anyway (so I put my Occupational Therapist and my Consultant and Doctor).
Here it is sunny so hope you get to work on your new van.
Today I am going food shopping and planning how I want my home to look by Christmas. My home looks more mismatched than eclectic at the moment :rotfl:
Have a lovely day!0 -
Oh dear, I have been cruising along with money for too long.

I have started doing my household accounts this morning - We earn plenty to cover all the bills etc, so why aren't I managing to save anything?
Initial findings are not good -I should have been saving over the summer but it looks like I have eaten into my savings a fair bit for new car/engagement rings and holiday, but if I managed to get this 5k for the new campervan onto a balance transfer cc then there will still be enough from the additional money I borrowed on my mortgage in the summer in the pot for the garage/back porch/kitchen.
I need to investigate further, but until they unlock my egg card from its' fraudulent state (I assume that will happen when I authorise the new card they said they would put into the post to me today), I can't go through my cc bills to pick apart my overspending...
This is exactly why I need this diary - I could instinctively feel that I was starting to slip back to pre LBM ways, but need this to stop me..
Will post more atrocities as I uncover them (public shaming is always good for me myself toe the line.).LMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

Hi Emma, just found your diary. Had a nose at your website, it looks good! I have family on Orkney, and we are the proud owners of a bay window van, so your diary appealed to me.
Good luck with the debtbusting!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

awwww, just wanted to say thank you to the anonymous person who popped a student survival guide in the post for my son. He got it today.. Not only was he dead chuffed to get post, but he even flicked through it a bit and says it looked really useful.
Thank you so much thoughtful person.. that was a really kind gesture and I feel all touched (oooh errrr) xxxxLMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)
