            Morning
Just figured out that if you take a *long* phone call from a friend you get logged out half way through a post :rotfl:
 So mark two ...
Love the halloween party boxes idea - the kids are going to have so much fun (and so will you picking all the bits). Used to have halloween parties every year but taking a couple of years off so that the next one we can go really gruesome and have more scary fun.
Sounds like you are getting everything all sorted and pressing forward and thank you to your dog and cat for giving me a laugh this morning.
Just want to add that the fire poi and chicken surprise pie both sound brilliant

Morning B, hope you had a good weekend. ooops about getting logged out, I stay logged in all the time, I must have things set a bit differently or something?
I have been having fun choosing spooky content for the boxes.
My pesky cat and dog, they are like some sort of comedy duo - you then add my hyper 8 year old who loves them both (a bit too much for the cat's liking) and this house turns into a pantomime of boy chase dog chase cat. The cat and dog will curl up and sleep together when Willow is calm, but Mr grumpy fat Stig (an old ginger rescue cat) has no tolerance for puppy moments and Willow gets a good whacking.

            I am still cold!
The builder promised to come around tonight or tomorrow night so fingers crossed he turns up this time. If not we will find someone else. OH is driving the bin lorry on one of the smaller islands today and won't be back until 730pm, I think he is having an adventure as he has never been to that island before. Is going to be odd just being me and the boys for tea though. I'm going to do something with pork steaks (were reduced), vegetables and rice.. not sure what yet.
managed to get a lot of things off my to do list done. I have even started reading some other diaries on here, there are some really inspirations folks out there and loads of good ideas for me to gleen and adopt.. starting with a kitchen timer (just got me one for a couple of quid off ebay)..
Will print off the party invitations tonight and he can take them to school with him tomorrow. He is pretty excited, although one of the other boys in his class is having a swimming party this weekend - I hope the children aren't fed up of them by next weekend...typical huh?
Anyone having anything exciting for tea?LMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

wehay to no trip to the big bad city
yum.. like the sound of our tea.. I still don't know what mine is called almost turned into a bit of a casserole I suppose with sweet potato, carrots, onion, tatties and a bit of butternut squash and green peppers yoinked in the oven with garlic olive oil and a bit of stock for a bit to see what happens. We will still have it with rice though I think - I'm not in a tattie peeling mood, although mash would be nice..
Enjoy your tea. I have dumpling envy:beer:LMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

            Morning
First things first - did the builder turn up last night? I hope he did.
Tea last night here was pasta with tomato herb sauce with bacon bits - cheap, quick and easy - ticked all the boxes
Did nothing yesterday (was so tired) but today feeling good so food shopping with mum then getting some organisation at home. Have realised we spend most time in one room so we are going to re-organise otherwise we are just giving the bank money for nothing IYSWIM.
Hope you all have a productive day.

No he didn't!!.. so tonight is his last chance saloon for 'Tuesday or Wednesday' night..
Wednesday nights are always a bit hectic - we have my stepd (sd?) all evening so one of us will have to pop out to bring her home. She has lots of food dislikes (even worse than my own daughter and I didnt think that was possible !!)
For the last 6 months or so I have been teaching her to cook though and she helps me most evenings she is here. She is loving it and we have worked out what it is she doesnt like about certain foods and why perhaps she will only eat tinned macaroni cheese/packeted noodles/fried things and why I dont have those in my house or let my boys have time. (having said that we have had to let her have supernoodles sometimes).
Anyway - last week she told me she would eat spag bol if it was made with the dolmio sauce (I make mine from scratch which she wont even try so just has dry spaghetti on spag bol days - she hates cheese too). So I have purchased a jar of dolmio sauce to try. wish me luck!LMB: 2005 and got rid of £80k debt in 4 years (including getting mortgage down to 38k)

Is a miserable, cold day today but trying hard to keep spirits up. Work is being a chore this morning - lots of stress and deadlines and I am panicing about being away from lunchtime tomorrow - Monday evening.
I am away to a work's meet up funnily enough - we all work in all different parts of the country so we try and meet up roughly in the middle of the country once a year (has always been Derbyshire). I have far further to go than anyone else but I'll stay with a workmate in Doncaster tomorrow night and then help her with the huge shopping on the way on Friday morning. I'm a little bit scared as I have offered to make a few dishes this time (there are 20 of us so we tend to have a meal 'theme' each night with folks taking things from home or cooking at the time).
First night is ilalian I think.. second night we are going to do halloween fodder, so I am doing a huge vat of soup (flavour to be decided when we go shopping) and Ill do snazzy baked tatties, so that will be pretty easy.
I'm going to take some cheese and oatcakes for the Friday night and had promised to make some choccies but I dont think that is going to happen now.. ooops.- So as well as work I need to pack for me (and the boys who are going to be at their dad's house from tomorrow night)
- sort house
- do washing
- go to post office with books.. eeeeep.. dont want to go out in yucky day
- work through my work to do list
- Get ds invites chopped up and written so he can give them out at school tomorrow
- check banks and get money out

and that whole potential builder coming tonight shizz that I mentioned above....
Right now I want to stay at home and have a nice quiet cosy weekend

Ooh I know exactly what you mean! I have been trying really hard to have one of those for aggggggggeeeeeesssss but it just hasn't happened as I keep getting bothered into doing things! I know I shouldn't complain at having so many friends who want to do things with me but sometimes all I want to do is chill!0
