  • Chilling is good for the soul and we all need that too.

BTW i kept meaning to say... I spoke to my ds about what he wanted for his birthday and so I am getting him......(drum roll.. you'll never guess).....

    magnets!!

He was so excited and animated about them - drew me pictures of the ones he wanted and what he was doing to do with them (mostly imbume money I think..teehee) that I have gone ahead and ordered him some magnetty goodness. A very cheap birthday which makes me feel better about spending so much on his party :)

He also wants the Tescos Caterpillar chocolate cake for his birthday cake, so who am I to complain (must find out when ours is closed to move into its' brand new building though - i think it might be next week)

He is so cool sometimes - he walks a different path through life than most people and is oft misunderstood (he is a gun loving thug who's favourite colour is pink and is fascinated by the anatomy of dogs - how their bone structure differs from ours and where their internal organs are etc).. but I think he is the coolest dude and he has taught me so much, I wouldn't be without him :)

  • Sounds like you have got a busy time ahead but much yummy goodiness. Don't know whether the dolmio sauce will be included in that - I cook from scratch so haven't tried it.

Your DS sounds like a wonderfully unique young man. Hope you've got a lot of your work done.

  • Em, its not just yuk out there - its rancid.

Goodluck with the trip - I was thinking a cuppa when you're back before we're off?

I cook from scratch too (so much easier, tastier and quicker!), so am a bit scared.. I am not sure I won't be able to resist 'doctoring' it to make it palatable, but I will be being watched so not sure I will be able to. I suspect I am incapable of not fiddling... going to start soon.. wish me luck!

I walked the dog in that! (well only to the postbox and around the church, but still was pretty exciting!)... horrid day :(

Thanks for the good lucks.. yes, that would be great to have a cuppa next week - darn this week being a silly short half week filled with a weeks' business. I'll text you when I is back xx

  • Morning

Hope your tea last night went well. Today we have sunshine - and cold so lovely autumn morning. Yesterday I sorted (on paper) the re-organisation of downstairs so now just up to OH to make the units I want :D

Have a great time on your travels.

  • Good morning everyone. A stunning day here in the land of Orks.

A very busy day today as I am off on the lunchtime plane down to Leeds to stay with a pal overnight then on to Derbyshire tomorrow. It is our annual staff meetup. As we all work so remotely it is a great opportunity to catch, get some serious work meetings in and mostly chill and eat :)

So far I have finished the DLA form and am now photocopying it. The teacher for the deaf is in school today so I will pop down and she will write her statement for me.
I have guillotined up all the invitations and dh has written names on them all. I hope he gets on fine handing them out ok. My oh is going to have to take the confirmation phonescalls from parents but I am sure he can cope.
I have a very excited boy for going to his dad's straight after school today, this means the noise levels and level of destruction in the house are even worse than normal. Even the dog isn't coping very well and she is bomb proof.

    Left to do:
Wash hair, will have to use hairdryer today as hair pretty long and takes until lunchtime to dry normally.
finish work bits (3 hours maybe?)
pop to school to see teacher
    run across to post office
    find a suitcase
    pack
promised to buy local produce to take.. not sure i will have time
find a birthday present/card/wrapping paper for a party ds is invited to on saturday
    pack for the boys
leave it in the porch for their dad
let school know he is picking them up
    check bank
    take money out

and I need to be at the airport for 1ish...
    nae bother

    Anyone doing anything fun today?

  • Morning Butafli, yes, tea did go well thanks. She ate nearly all of it and it reminded me of the type of spag bol that the kids have got in restaurants before. Not half as nice as homemade but perfectly ok.

Oooh your oh making units sounds exciting - what is he going to make them out of?
