I always wonder why benefits are the same all over the country when the cost of living varies so much from place to place?
According to the benefit calculator we will be getting £176.80 per week including Child Benefit, Tax credits, Council Tax Benefits and Job Seekers allowance.
Since this is about half of our mortgage costs alone I don't know how we're going to manage. I can manage to feed us for £2.58 per person per day but I'm going to have to cut that in half.
I just don't know what we're going to do.0 -
I forgot to say that the annual figure for the total help that we a family of five will get is £9218.84.0

Sorry but a single person living on under 30k per year IS poverty!!
Unless you live in some crappy shltty farm village up north or mid england 30k is just barely enough to survive on with a decent average lifestyle.
Translation:- Look at me, look at me! I live a rich affluent lifestyle and I want everyone to know it0 -

And while I'm sure there's, many, many employers out there appreciate initiative completely ! I'm not disputing that..However, I'd be very surprised if there were many handing out full-time jobs on the basis of a polite 'giss a job type' phone call at the moment ?
Unless of course you have yet another wonderful, inspiring and uplifting ( cloud cuckoo-land ) anecdotal to share with us all ?
Suggestion.
Call all the care homes within 10 miles of your home and ask.
Alternatively. sit on your backside doing online applications along with all the thousands of others.0 -
Erm, as far as I know, shakethedisease is working. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

It's a no automatically if you don't do it. Doing it this way you can differentiate yourself from the rest of the online job application pack.
Just a thought.Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.
