Covered with miles upon miles of beaches - Google churns up Kauai, Hawaii0

This is probably completely wrong but it reminds me so much of Fuerteventura in the Canaries?
I think this could be the closest match in terms of sand colour and water colour. Also many images have the black rocks.
This image for the sand:

And this one looks like the rocks

My answer for today is Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain.
Its a stab in the dark, could be so many different places with that clue.
Lets see what tomorrow brings.0 -
Looks a little bit like 4 mile beach, Port Douglas, Oz from when I was there?
Having said that though - Google throws up http://www.goin2travel.com/list/asia.htmThe coastal regions of Thailand are rapidly recovering from the massive earthquake and tsunami that struck the region a few years ago; both the resorts and the ancient attractions continue to possess significant appeal to significant guests. There are miles upon miles of beaches, diving excursions, moonlight parties, boat trips, and even the filming site of a James Bond film.Noli nothis permittere te terere

Clue 1 - covered with miles upon miles of beaches
Clue 2 - highest point is over 5,000 feet
Ninety Mile Beach, New Zealand (which is actually 55 miles long) and
Mount Ruapehu which is over 5,000 feet (9,177 ft)
and is the yacht something that is related to America's Cup?
OR
Tasmania, Australia
Overall Tasmania is comparatively low-lying with the highest point at 1614 metres (5500 feet)
Also has famous sand dunes.#StaySafeWishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year0 -
Kauai, Hawaii - The highest peak on this mountainous island is Kawaikini at 5,243 feet
