    Thanks John

I meant what is the procedure to qualify for Egg as well as Rpoints on the same purchase?

When buying through Egg you have to access the Dixons site from the Egg website. How do you then get Rpoints to register the same sale?

    Thanks for your help.

All i did was go to the dixons site through rpoints, the egg came off automatically. When i checked my egg statement. IE, you dont have to go through the egg site, not even sure theres a link to dixons from the egg site.

    Hi Folks,

this may sound silly but ...

I am thinking of going from a Canon EOS 500 35mm camera to a Canon EOS 400D . Will the lens that I have still fit. Which is a canon ultrasonic zoom lens ef 75-300mm 1:1-5.6 II or if not will it fit any Canon EOS digital camera

    Thanks

Here is the Egg link I have used in the past

    http://new.egg.com/visitor/0,,3_87199--View_1858,00.html

Egg say you have to go through their link to get an instant 5% cashback.

    Good news if you don't?
    :)

i never did and my r points is showing, and the dixons money has gone into my egg cash back.
  • yes it will :)

(although due to size of sensor, you need to multiply the focal length by roughly 1.5, so your 75-300 will become something like 110-450)

  • I'd say for the sake of £20 or whatever go to a real shop, with staff who actually know what a 400D is. Really, i wouldn't buy an SLR online (too much hassle getting it sorted if it doesn't work - as for amazon they took 2 months to sort out a scanner that never worked), and i wouldn't buy from Dixons since last time i went in there and asked if they had a Canon 20D, they said 'what's that?'.

Jessops will local price match and internet price match (must be actual UK stock, not imports a la pixmania) on the 400D.

The jessops price match is dependant on the store or manager, heard so many times jessops not price matching.

I go for the cheapest, i know about the product allready, canon will deal with it if under guarantea.

Id like to hear from anyone getting the 400d lens kit for £466 or less from jessops, which you can from dixons online.
  • If I buy from jessops.com will I be able to go instore and ask for help?
  • smsmasters: yup, i should think so.

as for the price match thing.. the policy atm is to price match local shops or internet shops with actual uk stock.

They would match the dixons online price.

It's exactly 1.6x FOV crop by the way for APS-C sized sensors such as in the 350D and 400D ;)
