Canon EOS 400D + EFS 18-55mm Lens
As well as the EOS Integrated Cleaning System, the EOS 400D incorporates a number of developments over the EOS 350D. Resolution increases from 8.0 to 10.1 Megapixels, using the superior hi-sensitivity, hi-speed, low-noise CMOS technology.

At nearly twice the size of the EOS 350D display, the 2.5" hi-resolution LCD is brigh and displays all of key shooting and user interface information along with image playback. The AF system expands from 7 to 9-point, with a highly sensitive f/2.8 centre point for exceptional performance in low light. Even with the image resolution increase, maximum frame burst almost doubles from 14 to 27 large JPEGs and from 5 to 10 RAW.

Dixons price is £521.98 + £2.99 delivery, then if you use egg for 5% cashback and Rpoints 2%.

So that makes it £488.22

On my calculations - it's probably better to use dixons at £521 (get 5% cashback from egg) and if possible a further 3.5% from quidco - though I'm not sure if you can use both.
Even just with egg though. It brings the camera less than £500 (494 I think).

The other option I'm considering is using dixons taxfree - but so far they don't stock it. They do have the Nikon D80 though for a cracking £680 though - so I'm considering that.

I'm due to be passing through a dixons taxfree on 31st October so will probably leave things for a month and hope that the canon appears.

But i'm fairly sure I'll end up regretting that decision as the camera will possibly go back up!

Still what can one do - plus another month means another paycheck!

I've just noticed cashback from quidco - you seem to be able to get 3% on any transaction at Jessops so that might pip it!
Shame you cant use quidcoten to get the tenpercent as it's a digital slr!
