Hi,
I have the Cookworks Slow Cooker £8.99 from Argos. Does anyone know if it is safe to put the pot in the microwave?0 -
I have the Cookworks slow cooker and yes it is dishwasher safe.
I have looked at my instruction book and the only thing I can find relating to learning2me post is "The stoneware bowl cannot withstand sudden temperature changes, such as immersion into cold water as this can cause the bowl to crack" so I guess the same would happen re microwave .

I did!!! Just don't keep lifting the lid or else it takes longer to cook as all the steam that's built up escapes!
The advice on here was to use it the first time on a day you are in, that way you can check on it and get confidence before leaving it all day.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Morning,
Going to be going out around 1 but my food delivery was late. I had planned to do a large chicken in the crock pot but I cant wait until 8 for it to be ready. Would it work if I put it on high for an hour, then 5 hours on low?
I will be putting it in with same carrots, snips, and peeled potatoes.
I did have a quick search, sorry for the new thread.0 -

Probably too late now, but............. I'd put SC on high, boil a kettle of water and put in SC to heat the 'pot'. Put the chicken in the microwave on med for a few mins, or until it feels a bit warm - or - put it in a hot pan and brown the breasts, again to give it a 'head start'. Bring to the boil any veg you are adding. Use any of this boiling water if you add any to your 'pot'.
Now pour water out of the 'pot' and begin as usual.
I'm guessing that warming everything up to begin with will shorten the cooking time.
Other 'slow cookers' will be along soon I expect to give you more exact times. I haven't cooked a whole chicken yet.0
