  • Not exactly what you asked for - but this recipe works really well with beef shoulder.

    • 2 pounds boneless beef roast
    • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 onion, quartered
    • 16 baby carrots
    • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

    1. saut! beef in oil for about 15 mins and season
    2. put veg in slow cooker, put meat on top and pour over the soup.
    3. cover and put slow cooker on low for 8 to 10 hours stirring once or twice
    4. Serve – with the sauce / gravy
    5. YUM YUM

Thankyou for this, I will save it for next time, I slow roasted beef in guiness, 1/2 pint stock,1 onion, bay leaf, salt n pepper, pinch of thymme and clove of garlic for about 5 hours, then a quick 3/4 of an hour blast in oven, served it with roasties, peas and yorkies Mmmmmm, the dogs very un frugally enjoyed the leftovers and will probably be trumping for the rest of the night lol!!!

    Hi charleybabes,

Learning to use a slow cooker is a bit trial and error, depending on what food you like and what model that you have. If you take a look through these threads you should find a recipe that appeals to you, give it a go and if you enjoy it then try something else. In time you will gain confidence to experiment with your slow cooker..

As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the SC Qick Questions thread where you can browse for tips :T
