I have just finished sorting out and rearranging the tinned and jar cupboard in the kitchen. I have brought all the older stuff to the front and sorted out and stacked all the new things and put those to the back. I have had to go out into the garage and sort out the floor, worktop and cupboard space, which is mainly cleaning stuff. Got eight bottles of fabric conditioner out there. Three boxes of Ariel and Fairy (big 80 wash box) and there is four bottles of the Fairy non bio as well along with multipacks of tins.
The jars, rice, tissues and other odds and ends have had a fettle around in the storage cupboard above the cloakroom. Generally speaking we are okay for loo rolls, tissues and all dried stuff and beverages. There are seven 16 roll packs of Andrex loo rolls and two 24 roll packs of the Cushelle - I think we'll be alright there :rotfl:160 loo rolls are not going to be gone through before the New Year - I hope
It wasn't on my list to do this job but it is raining outside so I thought that it could be done now.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

I know we have all been doing as much as we can in prepping for winter but now the nights are drawing in and a threat of snow as early as next month - well to be honest I am feeling a bit sick actually.
It just feels as if everything is going to get a whole lot harder from now until the end of January. I am not a big fan of Christmas although the post sales are always useful, I really do think I suffer from SAD syndrome!!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Well made my foil linings for the radiators from a windscreen sunshady thing. Cost me £1.50 on ebay and took me about ten minutes to cut, shape and fit. I'm amazed at how easy it was
The thermos mugs for the car have arrived today and look very promising. There is a little unscrew top on the mug where you can store a tea bag, coffee etc. I'm dead impressed.
Snow in October? Bring it on...I have loo rolls to spare!

Ok bit behind here - but weather forecast yesterday got me thinking, trip to Aldi to get flannel sheets - already have thermals. Today will make sure that we all have slippers and fluffy socks and dressing gowns - pretty sure we do, but the childrens feet keep growing (grr!!!). This weekend I'm going to put up curtain rails in the conservatory and then put up heavy curtains - effort to try to keep heat in so we can use the room year round! We'll see what happens.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Hello all
Never realized until the weather got colder that we don't have a radiator in our hallway - so can imagine that will be like an icebox come the winter! so need to get something sorted in there asap - like a curtain on the door - apart from that there isn't really much I can do!
Have my freezer now - :j so am busy building up a little bit of stock in there - only problem is my lot eat so quickly it was 3/4 full and is now back to half full again even after a £50 shop. Think I will look to do a big proper freezer shop asap as I would rather it full!!!
Really do need to make a start on winter prep soon - I have done a few little bits and pieces but its all trivial things now that come with moving home!
Right off to double check my list and have a look at what I can get done whilst babe naps today. REally need to sort the cubby hole under the stairs ready for putting winter stashes in.Time to find me again0
