    Redlady hi
I thought it would be about that- well will try someone else next time or just continue to rely on the regular jackdaws who throw themselves down and come out of the fireplace giving the dogs hysteria ans pooing as they go!

Oh and my sweep costs me £35 when he comes out.

I have this picture of you paying him after he emerges from the chimney ('when he comes out'):rotfl:

Evening all, hope you are by now cozying up with a warm drink, tonight is verrry chilly here in St Ives, I was sat here in my fleecy PJ's from primarni, however I have had to go up and get my welli sox and a fleecy cardi so Im feeling a bit more toasty with my hot milk.
Today(my day off) was spent trawling the charity/second hand furniture places, I managed to find 2 double flannelette fitted sheets and at the carboot I found a fab snow coat which will do dd2 grandly, she is adament she isnt going to wear it as she already has last years, but thats half way up her arm and she is scared stiff Im going to pass it on to a friends daughter( she's a secret hoarder in the making)
Stocked up on some more loo rolls and beans, my friend came round today and my wardrobe door was open, she nearly passed out when she saw my stash of winter food/essentials in there Hahahaha!!! I'll be the one laughing when she is ringing me asking for bogroll when al the shops are out!!!
This afternoon I gave to dogs their weekly brushout and have placed all their fur in a bucket in the centre of the back garden, so hoping the birdies will take it to make their nest nice and cozy.
Was granted permission to raid one of my elderly clients bramley apple tree yesterday, so we are gonna have a mad crumble batch cooking day on Saturday Nom Nom Nom!!!
All fleece blankets, and duvets have now been laundered and airing cupboard bogged out and made tidy with extra room on top shelf for extra stash of winter essentials.
medicines for winter stash is next on my list.
    Happy preparing all x

Just a word of warning on the salt

The past two winters here have seen heavy snowfalls and temps of minus 15 for up to three weeks at a time leaving the paths and roads just solid sheets of thick ice

After clearing the path to the bins and coal bunkers I left a lot of salt - esp on the steps as I didnt want mum falling on ice

Its now costing me over 3k getting the patio and steps renewed because the salt completely blew the slabs around the house.

Wasnt one where I scattered the salt that hasnt lost the top

Also where it was driven up and lay on the car port - the top of the concrete there has crumbled

    Go easy on the salt

    Hi

If anyone has a Wyevale Garden Centre near them and are after a cheapish fleece top they are selling Regatta ones for £5 - I've bought one, they had them in cream, hot pink!! baby blue and navy. The mens were the same price. I tried my normal size and it fitted fine but I bought 1 for DH and his is going back to be changed for a larger size, I've worn mine tonight and its toasty warm
