    Hello everyone,

Yet to catch up so please don't think me rude and here are some generic hugs! x

Today I took down my bathroom roller blind and rolled it back up with a trimmed down Ikea fleece, its worked a treat! I also hung my heavy curtains back up in the bedroom, so now have a double curtain in there. I really need to think of something to do with the slatted blind in my living room, thinking of something behind them but not sure what will still let light through???????

Stock pile cupboard coming along nicely, lots of pasta, sauces and rice, also tinned beans and toms.

Also ordered some fleece lined trousers for me and OH, didnt get the craghoppers in the end as they didnt have mine or his size in stock, got some from Ebay instead. Will let you know what they are like when they come.

Definately a chill in the air these days and also I can't believe the leaves falling off the trees already!

I've been eyeing those trousers on Ebay. I would be grateful to know how they are, quality wise and fit wise. :)

;) Felines are my favourite ;)

Would just like to second that hugs and best wishes for Friday.

I dont know about the next of you but rather than preparing I think I have been caught on the hop. It is so cold here today, is it really still August? or did I miss out on a couple of months here.

Anyway refuse to put on heating so decided to do batch cooking and baking so oven warms the place up a bit and am planning an early night snuggled up with a book and hot chocolate , maybe a packet of biscuits.

baking is one of my tactics for autumn as well, really takes the edge off and gets something that needs doing done in the process :T

On the Winter front, have managed to get my DS a fleece all in one from Primark. He probably won't sleep in it as he gets very hot at night, but it will be great for lounging around the house after his bath. Nearly got me an adult one, but decided i'd only end up tripping over it :rotfl:[/QUOTE] from Alisonpennypincher

I have one (I'm VERY small, well under 5 ft). I just put it on and then put my slipper boots on over the top. The legs are a bit ruffled but it will stop you tripping over it.
If you can sew, you could always cut the feet off, remove some of the leg and sew the feet on again - I might do that this year.

I love mine!! My oh - not so much :rotfl:!

Red Doe - I have no advice to offer as I know nothing about Oil and the theiving bar stewards that they are but wanted to add a hug for you [hug], life must be very tough but you sound like you are doing well so far - I also agree with what you have said about the OS board - lovely helpful people who don't judge, just help, so a huge Thank You to everyone for all the tips and tricks given - I really appreciate it as we have very little spare money and I have managed to do loads so far

I knitted the front cover for a HWB yesterday and hope to have the back finished by the end of the week - thats them finished then.

Yipee - I've got some space blanket insulation for the loft!!!! B&Q only had the smaller rolls but there again I could only get 10 in the polo and doubt if I could have fitted the kingsize in very easily - it should be enough for the ceiling over my room which faces north. Now all I have to do is screw my courage to the sticking point and get up there hoping that if I bang about enough the 8 leggers will just go and hide!!!! I really am extremely (ludicrously I know) terrified of them.
Sweep came and did an 'adequate' job. Also talked of £1500 as the ahem "realistic" price for installing a stove! Mind he also said I needed the chimney done in 6 months , asked for a bin bag for the soot and didnt take it away with him - not what I call a master craftsman. Now I need to close the opening in a temporary way so that I can use it when the kids are here, Xmas etc - thinking of velcro-ing a small (fleece) curtain around it and holding it in place with an old chest at the bottom.
Just wish the head pain would abate as it is really yuk today and have had all the p/killers I'm allowed at the mo - might just sit and listen to the afternoon play instead......

Tugrin - apparently it is best to start insulating the loft from the edges in. Then you can gradually fill in as you get more stuff to put up there. If all else fails, store the loo roll up there!

I know what you mean about the 8-legged things... I won't go up there for the same reason although everyone claims there aren't any.

Stuff an old pillow or duvet up the chimney to stop the draught temporarily, and just take it out when you want to use it. As for the stove, get several people to quote, and get them to quote for lining the chimney, fitting the stove and supplying the stove separately so you can compare the costs. Although if you're having it lined that does sound about right, depending on the stove. There can be a lot of difference between them, and you may be able to pick up a sale bargain somewhere.
