I think most of the curtain-buying is for curtains that are warmer, bigger or to cover doors etc where there are no existing ones, and lots of the fleeces are being used as curtain linings; its all prep for winter... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Yes, new fleeces for the curtains because we are still getting settled into the house. Old slippers I'm afraid!!
I'm away for a while and I don't think OH knows how to use the thermostat so I hope my extra layer of insulation will do for him if it gets chilly!! He's quite robust so fingers crossed!!0 -

Good point.
Of course, as we're learning to become more OS, we might have to get things in new. But how many of us either have most of what we need already and either can't find them in the clutter, or see it as a great excuse to go shopping and buy more stuff?0 -

I've had the fleeces for years, used them when camping as a guider 5-10 years ago. Curtains - got some from my great uncles house when we were clearing out his house so they need altering slightly otherwise we'd just use the blinds, not the best thermally but not too bad.
It's kinda like painting the Forth Bridge, always something that needs replacing/mending every year or so. I'm lucky we are all adults so none of the worries of growing out of things.Put the kettle on.0 -
OMG How organised are you!!!! Sounds like you are nearly done... How about popping down my way and organising us too
:rotfl:
That's very kind of you but I am not in the least bit organised, just a compulsive pack rat.Only happy when the place is stuffed to the gills.:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm sat here with a thermal top and a warm wooly cardie. Bliss!
Think have enough meds type stuff for now. Must get the cat bits and bobs. Then pop to a shop that sells thermals at a reasonable price.
You know if the Ikea fleeces are that cheap I may buy them as Christmas pressies for some of my 'older' neighbours. Handy pressie don't you think?Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Wide neck thermos in Aldi next week for those looking for one http://aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_15765.htm"One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Well, today, DH has hung the curtains and the thermal lining across the hall door leading from the front door into the dining room.
We've got a lined door curtain on the front door but I think I am going to tack some fleece onto the inside of that too. We are in a close with a big field on three sides and when the wind blows towards our front door, it is brass monkeys.
I am booked in for my flu jab next month and DH will have one done at Superdrug or somewhere. We've got our Vicks First Defence, Night Nurse for him (He should be so lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky)LOL,:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Paracetamol for me, as I am allergic to Aspirin and getting some throat lozenges, cough lintus and nasal spray.....
I am planning making loads of homemade bread, chicken or beef based soups with loads of veg and herbs, casseroles, curries and dumplings, and drinking existing homemade plum wine and elderflower cordial for the winter.:T
All fleeces, blankets, thermal underwear, sweaters, gloves, scarves, hats etc at the ready.
Store cupboards and freezers filled and at the ready and loads of homegrown chillies and tomatoes.
Bring it on.
