I know they're fairly expensive but if you go through a lot of papers (or your neighbours do) it may help cut down on coal/wood costs a bit.....
yes we have, they are a b*gger to dry so i'd recommend make them in warm weather (???) also make outside as the amount of water that comes out is phenomenal (sp) oh and lastly, have someone else make them!!!!!Nonny mouse and Proud!!

I suffer with my back during winter too, standing on the touchline watching DS's rugby. I can recommend the self heating heat pads @ 99p for 2 from Home Bargains or B&M. I've also got a kidney belt that I got from A!di this was part of the motorcycle range but they also had a similar work belt in not so long ago. It's one size fits all with a velcro fastening this just adds the extra layer and also support. If you can find one I would definately invest.Roadkill Rebel #87 Sept 49p Aug 3p July 55p June £1.38 May 6p Apr 26p & 1c Mar 39p Feb 32p Jan 57p0

If you google "make your own belly band" this brings up lots of sites suggesting how to upcycle old tshirts/sweatshirts into a custom sized band to go round your middle. Great whether you are pregnant or not!Won 2011: Annual tastecard membership :T0

My Craghopper lined trousers arrived about 10 mins ago and although they are wide enough for me, they are about 6" too long
... however, I HAVE looked at the hems and know that I will be able to alter them easily enough :j and I will be VERY warm and cosy (they are SO soft inside) whenever I wear them
Thankyou to the kind person who suggested them on here, you are an :A!

Aww cheers, I think that was me :-) Mine came as well today, I'm really impressed with them, and like you found them to be a little long (though won't warrant adjusting). They fit perfectly around the waist for me, which is nice as I find size 8's can be a bit unpredictable for me and sometimes are baggy round the waist but fine everywhere else.
They're so soft and warm, can't wait to try them out. Was so chuffed I ordered a pair for my sister - incidentally they've been reduced by another £2!!0 -
You could easily make a fleece band to wear under clothes by attaching velcro to the band of fleece - remember fleece doesn't need hemming either so really easy to do0

Which craghopper trousers are you all buying? I have seen a few on there but don't know which ones are recommended...0

They are just plain cotton ones, like this :http://www.folio-gothichippy.com/ctd10-hippy-throwethnic-celtic-double-10-knot-bedcoverwallhangingthrowfair-trade-by-folio-9077-p.asp
but his were £8 ish from a market.
He has asked me if I can quilt one of them for the very cold NW corner. I've added that to my ever growing list.
Rad foil is excellent. You don't need to buy it, foil on cardboard will do, with some bubble wrap between them if you have it or in the £ stores you can get foil sunshades for car windscreens, they work too depending on the size of radiator and you can use the elastic loops to hold it onto the back of the rad if you don't want to put anything on the wall.
What a great idea Annie :A - I hadn't thought about using the elastic loops!! My landlord doesn't allow ANYTHING to be fixed to the walls.:mad:Give without remembering, receive without forgetting.0 -

I got these ones....they also do a longer length one

Looks like they also do them in 'short' as well.0
