lindseykim13 that looks like a glider track:

If it is rings or hooks wouldn't work, you'd need to buy some gliders, something like these:

If you can't find the correct fittings it may just be worth buying a cheap curtain track and fixing it to the existing holes?Dum Spiro Spero0 -
That's the cookie OT. They are pretty pricey but I thought it would be just the trick in the spare room.0

Hi
I know it may sound a bit daft but... I am having a humongous clear out  as part of my winter prep and having a carboot on the bank holiday. If we raise anything this will go to fund some of our preparation expenses... so it might not cost us that much. DH thinks i have need for more storage for my tinned tommies .... Maybe he has a bit of a pointThought i would suggest it.

Hi all I was an avid follower of this thread last year, but since changing jobs( now a community Carer) and run ragged I don't always get time every evening to check in.
However it is really a treat for me to sit down in the kitchen infront of my laptop with a hot drink and read all the posts about preparing for winter again, Kinda gives a warm cozy feeling, So I hope yu don't mind if I join in with my semi regular updates on what I am doing to keep up with winter preparations.
So far in the bottom of my wardrobe i have....
4x big bottles of A*on bubble Bath
4x shower gels
3x Lenor softener (currently on sale in MrT)
2x Big boxes of kids cereals(on sale in Mr T)
Candles
Matches
Tealights
Torches
Batteries for Torches
Will start to stock pile loo rolls and canned foods/Medicines tomorrow as day off.
Today I have been to charity shops and purchased a big knitted cardigan with fur lining for a £1 so its currently doing the rounds in the washing machine, also I found a flannelette single sheet for DD's bed.
Tonight I will dig out all 3 hot water bottles, 3 microwave bean bears and re launder our cozy all in one bed suits from primarni.
Also purchased a really thick saucepan with lid from charity shop, though this might do for jam making as we are going on saturday to stock pile the freezer with blackberries, I couldn't find a jam pan anywhere today, there were loads over the last few months but now I need one they have all been scooped up grrrrrr!!!
Anyway I have to go back towork for the Teatime shift today so will read up a bit more later. Happy Preparing.Thriftkitten

Oh just to report I have an elderly client who has the most magnificent garden(lots of trees) As I drew the curtains the other morning there was such a big tree with huge bramley apples all over it, I tried to hint that I should go out and shake the tree and that there would be some lovely crumbles to be had..........
Unfortunatly she wasnt as enthusiatic as I was hmmpphhhh!Thriftkitten

Crikey thats expensive, my workmate was charged £10 for changing them over and fitting them (per wheel) thats what i`d budgeted for when mine need doing. I think that i`ll be ringing up soon to get a quote.
Oops ignore me, that's just a price I got off the top of my head, it's by no means accurate! :rotfl:0 -
Hiya
I have been following this thread and hopefully will be more organised than last year!
I have started my food storage. What do you all keep yours in? I currently have mine in bottom of larder but i know if i put anything nice like a bit of choccy in there hubby will see it. would a large plastic storage lidded tub be ok (i can then hide that away).
Also we currently have no blind in the kitchen and last year it was absolutly freezing in there. What blind is best for a kitchen window? Ideally one that would be easyish to make. I am on the lookout for cheap fleece to line other curtains but cant seem to find any at the moment.
Thanks0 -
Hmm someone is selling 90 drop curtains for £15 on Facebook. My french doors would probably only need a 72drop. How easy would it be to alter them? They are fully lined so I'm thinking they are a bargain lol.0

Hi--
Kathy from America here. I am not familiar with the term "chuffing". Would one of you be so kind as to explain?0
